My feeling is that it is only fairly recent in human evolution that a man will consciously be concerned with the issue of creating children.  I think that there is something to the innate idea that those men who developed a jones for big butts would prosper better than those who didn't, but that in terms of a conscious decision to find gals who can forage better is a bit of a stretch.

I always thought the attraction to curves, had something to do with child bearing.

I can assure you of that.  They wouldn't get funding for these projects unless they came out with earthshaking results.  Let's see, if I can recall correctly - the angle of the dangle is directionly proportional to the lust in the thrust.  Oh wait, the heat of the meat is inversely proportional to the...   Well, you can see it's all very sophisticated and scientific.
