I had PM'ed a lady about something she wrote, and I made a joke that if she was going to be that appealing, she should at least attach a link to her website to the bottom of all her posts.  She wrote back saying she felt like that would be blatant advertising, and she didn't want to bother anyone.

That seemed unusual to me, so I thought I'd throw the question out there for general input.  I personally like to be able to check out the websites of providers that post here, and I'm perfectly fine with them appending their website in the "link" section.  Sure, I'd like them to be reasonably discreet about it -- there's no need for a two-paragraph addendum to every bantering post.  Still, if I don't want to click on a link, I certainly don't have to, and putting it at the end of the post makes it super easy to skip if I am of a mind to do so.

I do like being able to get more information about someone who has written a post that I find interesting... and if they don't want to put their website out there, they certainly don't have to.  Anybody else have thoughts about this?

But some girls get their garters in a bunch when girls post too much LOL..Glad you mentioned it !

...get the darn things on!!! By then, occasionally the mood is just a tad off!! Deep breaths are then needed I've found the trick is to attach the back garter BEFORE putting them on, then slipping into them...still need to be a contortionist, but it takes less time!! That way, if I miss my workout, at least I know I've done my stretching for the day....and laughing hilariously as well!

you've been wearing those blasted things for years, it's not much fun, as CiaraHasFun put it, "It's like playing twister" putting those darn things on. I finally had a couple of clients try to attach them for me and they got so frustrated that we both started laughing and they said, "Oh, forgot the stupid things. Let's just get naked!"  They're semi-sexy, but personally I find that thigh-highs work much better and are much sexier. Garters can sag when sitting down and tighten too much when holding your posture straight. It can look like a torture contraption from the mid-1500s. Just my opinion.  Wink!

It is true that I did not attach a link and it is also true that I explained why.
Ladies, you know what a pain in the rear it is, when there are some providers who chime in on EVERY post just to keep their link visible...not because they have something to add. We all know how annoying this is.

With that in mind, I only attach a link when I post my weekly schedule on my home board (Boston) and never if I "chime" in. Not to say it is wrong for others to do it, it just works better for me this way.

On the other hand, I think your point is more valid on this board. Since it is a national board, no-one knows me from Adam, so I probably should add a link now and again.

So, Captain Midnight, after I have finished bending over so you can slap my (_/_)for being a nawty gurl, feel free to check out my link and I promise I will try to behave more accordingly in future

You do know I wasn't trying to say anything negative about you with this post, right?  I was just a little surprised by your response, and I wanted to see if my perceptions and assumptions were flawed; I've been known to make some highly invalid assumptions before.

Now that you've explained your reasoning, I feel like I understand better where you're coming from with that, and I totally agree that you've got a point.  I guess I've been spoiled by sites that link everyone's posts to a visible "profile", so that you can find out a little more about those you find interesting.  I never perceived that as advertising, but I can now see why others might do so.  I still would like ladies to keep in mind that others might want to make contact with them based on some of these posts, but I can't immediately think of a way to make the TER system work in a sufficiently discreet fashion.  Maybe someone who is more familiar with the setup here could, though.

As far as chastising and rear-slapping... well, we can discuss that privately.  

I didn't say I wouldn't wear them. Obviously I do -- occasionally -- because of the comment I made about my client and I trying to mess with the straps (on the garter belts). I just don't care for them. And, no I'm not anyone's wife -- thank you. I'm too liberated and sexual for that. Just kidding!

And Im addicted to giving my opinion,addicted to  msg boards at ter, etc.  My link isnt in mall sites on ter, cause i dont care, i dont sit in the chatroom day in and day out, Because I dont care.. Now there is where to go to get my link spread out... but i dont. Maybe once a month I am in there... I could monger on in there everyday.. and just sit idle for  24 hour periods.. I could be posting a whole mess on NY.. My very own state. However I dont... There are many upstate people that lurk there.. I dont even Advertise a weekly ad here. OR a monthly one at that. When I travel to any state on this board. I dont have to advertise either. Anyone who has seen me or knows me, knows that.

I do my calls, do my blogs, clean my house, fix a lunch or snack here and there, and after each is done... even while giving a blow job, I think ,  I wonder whats going on on TER LOL!!.. Hell even when Im at work. I take my handy dandy sidekick and sign in on a break in the wee hours of the morn !

I don't post my link to most of my posts, and I thought certain times it was considered advertising. I thought I read somewhere on TER that advertising is only reserved for local boards. Am I wrong? I really thought we're not supposed to advertise on the national board. I guess deciphering what is advertising and what isn't could be confusing. Personally, I don't care either way, but please someone let me know what is the right thing to do. I'm sure you gentlemen would like to see a link.

Not sure if I am interpreting your post correctly, but I certainly wasnt talking about YOU or anyone else on here, when I talked about overusing a link.
I was referring to the local boards.
If you misunderstood me, I apologize for not being more clear.

I went straight to the definitive source -- the TER Posting Guidelines For Providers.  At the end of the (long) post, GND had the following to say:

"By participating in the discussions on TER discussion boards, you can greatly increase your visibility and give potential clients the opportunity to get to know you better.  You may include your link in messages you contribute to any TER discussion board, and that does not count toward your ad limit.  In fact, you are encouraged to include your link, because it helps everyone get to know you better.  Just please make those linked messages meaningful, entertaining or helpful contributions."

I think that settles it pretty clearly.
