Having had the opportunity to travel around the country, as well as Europe and the Middle East, I find the choice of word usage very interesting. I've also read a variety of erotica from around the world. Now, having written some myself, and looking to write more (especially extended roleplay type scenarios), I am interested in hearing people's thoughts about three words (only as they apply to the adult sexual realm):

Naked & Nude & Unclothed

So, Ladies and Gents, chime in with which word carries more 'erotic weight' with you.

-Is it situationally-based?
-Does one word carry more class or sophistication?
-Do you prefer one word when there is only one person, but another when two or more are involved?
-Does a word turn you off, even when the purpose is to turn you on?

I'm curious to see if men and women have the same thoughts regarding these words. Also, should anyone read this that speaks another language, or has experience in other countries, do the words carry different weight compared to what you may notice in North America?

---

Just to prime the thought process, here are some sentences you can think about to see what your feelings are:

- As he watched, she reached for a towel to dry off the water droplets that clung to her (naked/nude) body, glistening in the sun.

- Their clothes fell to the ground, and hungry eyes devoured each other's (nude/naked/unclothed) body.

- He liked looking at pictures of (unclothed/nude/naked) women. It stirred him deeply to think he might meet one of the ladies someday.

- She looked at the man again sitting at the corner table. It had been too long since she had seen a man (nude/naked/unclothed).

- Faster and faster they kissed, as their (naked/nude/unclothed) bodies wrapped tighter around each others.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Unclothed - innocent, natural
Naked - a bit more raw and sexed
Nude - sensual and artistic

- As he watched, she reached for a towel to dry off the water droplets that clung to her (naked/nude) body, glistening in the sun.
NUDE

- Their clothes fell to the ground, and hungry eyes devoured each other's (nude/naked/unclothed) body.
NAKED

- He liked looking at pictures of (unclothed/nude/naked) women. It stirred him deeply to think he might meet one of the ladies someday.
UNCLOTHED or NUDE or (if his deep thinking was sexually charged) NAKED

- She looked at the man again sitting at the corner table. It had been too long since she had seen a man (nude/naked/unclothed).
NUDE (the sense of nostalgia softens this sentence)

- Faster and faster they kissed, as their (naked/nude/unclothed) bodies wrapped tighter around each others.
NAKED

: )

Unclothed is what you  are at the doctor's office.

Nude people are what you draw pictures of in art class.

Naked people I take to bed with me and have fun.

"bare ass" is a nice into to naked, by the way.

You never hear of "bare ass nude."

these are a few of my favorite things....

TO me:

Nude - purposefully unclothed with many possible
connotations, too unspecific in itself, interest depends on the context

unclothed - exposed, too technical to be
interesting, unless it's an accidental viewing situation.....

naked - vulnerable, available, open, wanting

bare - provocatively unclothed

en dishabille - coquettishly bare après ébats amoureux (after the romp)

nackers - (British) stylishly naked especially in the getting to know you phase...

well in art form its a nude,
in a sense, they are unclothed and if caught they would be by a spouse or SO they would be naked.
but I personally like that little naughty twist on the word "naked" but pronounced Necked!
Like...Let's get Necked! its just So naughty and fun.
you may want to add that to your word catagory.

now let's all get Necked and have some Naughty little fun. Everybody uncloth and get bare assed!

cheers
Nicole

This story here is a good way to point out the distinction between nude, naked, and nekkid.
"Nude" implies a natural state, "naked" imples an out-of-context lack of clothes, and "nekkid" has sexual overtones.  After all, kids don't get nightmares about being nude in school, and artists don't make paintings of nekkid people.

Let's say you're sitting in your hotel room after a nice soak in a jacuzzi.  Since no one will see you from outside, you sit around with no clothes on at all, because it feels comfortable.  At this point, you're nude.  Suddenly, there's a fire in the room next door, and since you don't have time to put anything on, you run out to the parking lot as you are.  At this point, you're naked.  When you get to the street, you notice a Mardi Gras parade passing by.  You jump on a float and start dancing.  At this point, you're nekkid.
