That particular pricing structure might make perfect sense for someone based in NYC who is touring Ohio...

When on tour she is charging $150 LESS than her home rate .
Pretty much a given that while touring she has the expense of plane fare and hotel . Hassle factor of travelling could be added in as well . Not even including meals or rental car .
Travelling appears to have much more expense involved than your home base .
Why then , is it a lower rate when travelling ?  
Expecting sheer volume will offset the cost's ? I myself never use the word "expecting" when dealing with my finances .
Inquiring , thinking minds are curious as to the math on this ..........
Teach me something ..........

As Sola said, she is probably adjusting her rate for the area. Of course we don't know who you are talking about or where her home or tour area is, but her rates might be adjusted to match the average rates of the area. (TheNew York-Ohio example Sola gave is an excellent one.) I knew a Vegas Lady whose home rate was 300, and when she toured Hawaii it was 400 and when she toured Kansas it was 200. Made perfect sense to me.

She might be lowering the hurdle price of seeing her on a first trip and might increase the rate as she gets better known in the touring area.

Everyone's points are good.  Could also be she has to match her competitors for that area otherwise she wont see any business.  

As far as her travel expenses, she might have had another reason for being there or someone else paid her way and she is just looking to make extra money during her stay.  I know that I wont travel very far unless someone is already covering my travel and hotel expenses, so I am not really out of pocket at all and any money I make while I am there is all bonus to me so I can afford to adjust my rates accordingly.

Many times it makes no sense at all. Your description of this providers rates is a perfect example.

She either does not want to provide at home any more, or has enough local clients to keep her busy. So she has higher rates there. But she wants to be sure to get enough business to cover her costs, maybe even build up a clientele in a place she plans to return to.

Or she might just be playing with a new. lower rate to see how it works, sort of a pilot. And by doing it on tour, she can do that in a place she never plans to visit again.

Lots of possibilities, really. There are some pricing strategies that make me scratch my head, but this is not one of them.

Unless she has no cost when she travels and is looking to have some kind of intro rate I think it is backwards.

Granted there is a possibility there is a mistake in the ad, but there were already several good explanations given above. Now we don't know who he is talking about or the area or the rates in question, so we are making generalities here. Now if she is a 300 lady in her home area, charging 150 travel rate, then your point is valid, and I can't see her making money. But when I read the OP, I picture a 600 lady charging 450 touring. I have seen that before and it makes sense based on the area and she can certainly make money at 450

When I tour I both spend and make more money. When I am at home I have 3 incalls already there, and I prefer not to work as much so I charge MORE. I might see one guy a week at home vs. 6 a week when I tour, so it makes perfect sense to me. When we are at home we are not on "hooker time" so we never know when a call might come in, vs. touring when we are set up for a number of working hours per day. It is less of a hassle to make money touring, but moreso at home.

I guess if she has her bottom line, 450 she is doing the right thing. I keep my rates the same traveling I only increase by 50 I never lower my rates anymore because I don't want to service anyone for 150 less.

alot more the first day the tour enough to cover trip ect ect, andf she almost is doin the appts rest trip for the hell of it? hmm thats maybe why? maybe she wants to guarantee alot appts, and flooded email. and maybe that way works ? hmm. those were my two ideas. but thats seems weird.

I am currently looking for a new provider - regular customer that will repeat .

She has a regular sugar daddy who pays for most of the income she gets in her local area Then she jacks up the price to what the market will bear. She probably does not care to get that many customers IMHO until the sugar daddy is gone. She lowers the price on tour because she has no sugar daddy in those areas.

Also keep in mind that South Florida has wealthy retired folks who are willing to spurge on the hobby. Also South Florida has many tourists from the US and others parts of the world. Those other areas have some issues with market saturation. Like someone posted if she charges too much how phone won't ring.

I have seen providers do that in other regions in the US. As soon as the sugar daddy is gone they have to lower prices or offer specials to get former customers back.

Agree that there are lots of possibilites, and I agree that this is not a head scratcher at all, but there are some price strategies that definitely are head scratchers.

I'm in a city where the standard rate is much lower. In Los Angeles there's so many girls at my rate and above I can keep it and be comfortable. Whereas when I go to other states and their rates are generally lower I'd like to see more than 1 person, as opposed to LA I'd rather see one person a week at my regular rate.

Hey threw in the towel years ago on this issue.
However, Im thinking theres a goo chance that she will not revisit r if she does her rates won't be so low.
I do not venture to places where the rates are so low leaving me to turn out numerous amounts of guys just to cover expenses. In the end this reflects poorly on me...nt gonna happen.
Bottom line, she doesn't know any better.
