A professional website is less, than $300 a year. You can update & maintain it yourself. I have no idea why anyone should ask for rates. TER has a profile with costs of services. Sounds to me, like negotiating is on the table.
If I were advocating for this practice, I would point out that you can’t close a sale until you’re in contact with the prospect. Getting a person to contact you for rates increases the probability that you’re going to set up an appointment.
The downside of this is that you spend time communicating with time wasters who are only calling out of curiosity. What really matters is the both the inquiry traffic generated and the closing rate on that traffic. I would assume that an ad that posts rates generates a higher closing ratio than an ad that doesn’t. A possible scenario: Ads posted generates 10 calls with a 50% close rate = 5 dates booked. Ads posted “call for rates” generates 20 calls with a 30% close rate = 6 dates booked. The latter scenario means more income, but also generates more work for the provider’s Booker/assistant. The only way to know for sure, though, would be to get feedback from a provider who had used both methods, or run a test for yourself and post two fake ads, one with rates and one without, and see what the success rate of both ads is.
Wouldn't it be easier to display the current rate to avoid jumping through yet another hoop? I see this on P4 ads occasionally. If I can't afford a provider's rate, I will pass, but prefer not to waste my time if their gift is not in my budget.
And likely going to research the one inquiring to see their posting and review history. It’s so much more convenient if they just list their rates but some don’t want it as part of advertising in fear of LE reading and reprisals. But yes, most pass and move on such as myself I don’t want to play games and am not interested in negotiating.

Yep, and I don’t contact them either concerning that item. I personally feel like their performance would be affected (not in a good way) if one asked about their "p411 promotion". Either state what it is, or reduce your p411 rate listed above it to reflect the "promotion" and then leave that field blank. I've seen one provider who has that "ask me" populated for "p411 promotion" and I've never asked. Just paid the rate listed above it.
