Article states HPD out with stings aplenty.  Many ads out really are LE trying to strike.  They are extremely aggressive and serious about this.  Think they have had enough of the spa crap.

There has been quite a crackdown here lately.
Strippers have been taking the brunt so far from what I have
read and heard. They have been coming in to take advantage
of the BIG MONEY that is being brought in, but they are not
educating themselves on the laws that are being STRICTLY
enforced. The old "3 foot " law at our numerous clubs
has gotten many of these ladies a free trip to jail.
I have also read stories about indy providers having
there hotel incalls busted.
I had a session last night at my favorite spa and the coast
was clear. Plus it helps that this place is in a VERY DISCREET
area of town.
I haven't heard of any spas getting busted or harrassed.
Most of my information I have gotten off of aspd.net
They have a Houston based discussion board (hint hint),
so I consider this reliable info.

Alot of the hobbyists in Houston have been taking time off
during this past week,so most of the spas have been slow.
Some of the guys are taking advantage of this,by going
and having the "pick of the litter," so to speak.

Just be careful...Stay away from the strip clubs until
after the SB is over. If you're looking for an indy
(listen very closely)make sure her incall is someplace
a little more discreet than a hotel. If you're looking
for an outcall,stay away from agencies.LE has been
taking advantage of this easy sting setup.
From what I have heard the spas have been pretty safe.

Not asking for anything that would be an LE alert, so just in general..

When I was there I was very pleasantly surprized at what went on in some of the strip clubs.  I went to at least one which was quite nice, lots of clients, good dancers, pretty ladies, and an up beat good time.  But back along the walls in the booths there was some real oral action available as a plus to the lap or table dances.

And out of town just a bit on the major freeways I stopped at a truck stop looking place that advertized adult entertainment.  I was hesitant at first and just had a drink and watched the porn on the tube as girl after girl came to me and hustled.  After I surveyed the landscape I went into the back with one and proceded to get a BJ and FS.

Is this sort of thing still available down there?

The strip club scene is a definite YMMV thing.
I know of some guys who "say" they get all the action they need
in the clubs. The strip club scene is not my scene,but I will
say that I have gotten lucky a couple of times.
You are right about one thing,the strip clubs here are very
nice. Many consider Houston to be "Hobbytown USA" because
of the amount of strip clubs,spas/salons,indys,agencies and
what have you. Personally,I'm a spa man,and this is my
preference do to the convenience. I got news the other
day,that a well known "INDY" provider now works in my
favorite spa. Alot of the current spa girls were indys
at one point. Some of the spa girls feel that they have
enough regulars built up, and decide to go indy just to
end up back in a spa a few months later.The competition
is fierce,some of the spas have been LOWERING their prices,
just to compete. CONVENIENCE is the name of the game.
Many here including myself,have absolutly no reason
to go through a SCREENING process,when we simply don't
have to. Go on line,pick out your girl,check her schedule,
donation amount is displayed very clearly,make ONE phone
call,set your time up,show up and have your session,then
you're outta there.What could be easier?
One of the spa owners here employs somewhere around
70-80 providers,and that is just ONE owner.Some of you high
rollers could come here and hobby everyday for a month or
two,never seeing the same girl twice,and never even scratch
the surface on whats out there. Sounds FUN huh?

Sorry for getting off in another direction,I guess I could
try to answer your second question.

The truck stop scene scares the hell out of me.Way to "street"
if you know what I mean. I have heard to many hair raising
stories to even go there. There something about a truck stop
"lot lizard" carrying a long sharp knife that doesn't sit
real well with me.......GOOD LUCK.
