are escorts are just that - ladies.  they are  nice, decent sorts who I would love to have live in my neighborhood.  they have exactly the same concerns I  have (often) and they often have very similar life experiences.... well sort of.

but I look, and the terms used to describe WHAT they do are not nice, and fail to reflect my view and attitude towards them (no, I am not saying they are saints, rather just that they are like me, with the problems and issues that affect us all, just because we are human).

is there some label that is kinder, and more accurate than hooker, whore, prostitute, whatever, that more accurately protrays "what they do"?  This is a bright board, perhaps I dozed when this was covered in vocabulary that school day!

I am not much on labels, but I fail to see anything derogatory, insulting or inaccurate about that particular label.

I don't think most ladies care that much about what you call them as long as you "call" them.

moms trying to provide the a good life for their kids.

In other parts of the world people who do what they do aren't look down on.

It's a shame that in a county that values freedom we are shackled by prejudice.

people can call me anything except a slut. The difference between a whore and a slut is that the whore can pay her bills and doesn't stalk you after you're done.

My thinking is this:
If a lady is grown up and mature enough to handle the emotional pressures that come with being a provider, then she can handle the words that come with entering that arena.

Personally, I joke with my friends about my "hooker" problems, and the word sorta makes me laugh.  It's all about tone and trust.  With those I trust, I choose to be candid and blunt.

We are adults, in an adult-only place.
Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me.

Besides, I know who I am.  I don't wait to hear it from someone else.  What someone says reflects more on them than it does on me.

"I'm a bitch,
I'm a tease,
I'm a goddess on my knees,
when you hurt,
when you suffer,
I'm your angel under covers..."

That's how they are referred to in my neck of the woods.  IMHO, that's what they are and do.  They provide companionship with some fun rewards for us.  Yes, I agree they are ladies.

I sometimes refer to them as my girlfriends too.  It took me a while to get my non-hobbying roommate to stop calling the ladies whores.  I just don't like that term, or hooker either, for that matter.  When I hear those labels, I think of the crackheads out there walking the streets, picking up guys who happen to drive by their corner.

The girls I have seen are all decent kind lovely ladies in every sense of the word.  They just happen to enjoy sex with multiple partners, and I see nothing wrong with that.

All I know is that if they were talking about vocabulary including "hooker, whore, prostitute" in school, I damned well would have been paying attention!

However, I certainly don't think in those terms. I think of the ladies as you do, whole people with the same aspects of their lives as everyone else. Just some openmindedness and generosity (though compensated) on top of it all.

I don't always see providers for sex. Usually, but not always. I have also on one occasion paid a provider to impersonate someone for an important business function.

The roles they fulfill are just too broad to be encompassed only by terms pertaining to sex.

Also, I have had some non-romantic but very long term friendships with people I originally met in that role.

And -- quite frankly -- I really like most that I've seen as people.

There is just way more to the thing than sex.

So I like the term "companion."

Any intimate time I get to spend with a woman is playtime. Any worries or stresses are sent packing. When we part I am revived and renewed. So they are my playmates for my playtime!

On a first date (paid) we determine how compatible we are and If more or longer (paid)visits are in order.  These girlfriends are amazingly sensual, attractive and understanding of my privacy needs.  They don't call my wife and they don't get mad if I don't call them. When I am nice enough to them they even like me! What a wonderful country we live in.

I like companion or escort. Refers to the time rather than to the content, and that's exactly what we need if we want to remove the stigma of this bussiness. I don't like prostitute as it implies just sex, nothing else, and many encounters I like to think are more than that.  I hate whore, etc unless it comes from her as part of role playing.
I am afraid our concern with labels has also to do with the view of ourselves. call it narcissism or whatever, but I prefer to spend time with an escort than to fuck a whore.

That song by Meredith Brooks is me to a tee. If anyone wants to know what I'm like...I say listen to that song and you'll get a really good idea of who I am...and I don't mean my ASP persona...my real persona.

I find that response laced with conflict. You claim to be so bold as to refer to yourself as....but in private you are hesitant to use....OH! thats just between us,never mind. Look forward to the 'colorful' commentary(maybe play-by-play) or expression.

all work for me.  I refrain from using the negative words.

Yes, I agree; I have met many wonderful ladies who I would consider friends.  However, I don't cross the line.  This is her business and my hobby.

If a lady wants to chat on the phone or whatever, I will try to acomodate them.

i believe but i am not sure that the courts have defined a provider as a prostitute.

i prefer not to be called anything that would erroneously identify me as being involved in any criminal activity.

my clients normally call me ana.
apparently im too quirky or whatever you want to call it to be grouped

hun, if you look up that word, it's simply a whore for rich men. I don't think that it matters what anyone calls you, it is what it is and it only matters how you feel about yourself.

Whore, Prostitute is not an escort or courtesan.  The first is illegal selling sex for money.  An escort sells time, their social skills, their mastery of the 'good time', their mastery of presentation.
This isn't word play. They are different professions.

Some prostitutes mislabel themselves as escorts and that is where the confusion comes.

I don't find the words Whore, or Prostitute offensive or degrading.  I personally feel the profession should be legal and they are appropriate words and many of the ladies who are prostitutes are very nice.   I would find a term like Cum receptacle, *ssh*le peddler, or something like that degrading.  Someone who sells sex by definition is a prostitute.   It is a perfectly legitimate word.

historically and culturally speaking, a Courtesan was well schooled (autodidactically and or by others) in manners, charm, culturally appropriate hospitality, wit and intelligent conversation, sensual arts beyond the old in and out. And she maintained an incall that was charming, comfortable, secure and gracious.

This is *not* your typical provider lol (just sayin!)

And yes I have met and enjoyed the company of true Courtesans all over the world, most especially in Asia and India.

It is far more the exception than the rule in the US, but a small number of true Courtesans may be found among my reviews.

Cheers

there is also a misconception that a provider, in general is an idiot, drug addict, heavy drinker, welfare collector and horrible parent (if she has kids). I think that it is what it is, I personally have an Associates Degree and am going back for my BA, but that doesn't change how I earn my money. Only once in the 4 yrs I've been doing this, have I had a client who only wanted a stimulating conversation. If you have sex, be there conversation or not, you are a prostitute. Words and labels are silly. I don't deserve more praise for being educated, than the girl who dropped out of high school, walks in sucks you off and leaves.

I'm just waiting for the hoe revolution. It's should be legal, hoes unite, stand up for your right to suck a cock and get paid for your effort.

come on, be real. How many "escorts" truly just talk to their clients? If they did, the county wouldn't be sucking a few hundred bucks out of them for a "license"
