I always eat light on hobby days. I avoid red meet and high fat foods as they have an adverse effect on blood flow. This may not be an issue for younger guys but it makes a big difference for me. I also drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
No garlic, onions, or fish oil the day before or of. Mashed potatoes and a plain chicken breast about 3 hours before is very stomach friendly for me and I never run out of energy.
