in dealing with so many folk who so frankly and rawly disclose some of their most basic needs and desires has given you a new, perhaps clearer, understanding of the every day world?

Do you feel like you have x-ray glasses that see through daily posturing and bullshit?  For instance, when dealing with civvies in every day life, do you see through some kind of veneer of feigned respectability?

I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but I'm just wondering if there is an "official" hypocritical world where we pretend to fit in defined roles, and then there is the real world that plays out mutely and behind walls. Like all the politicians who get elected for thumping bibles and decrying drugs and sex out of marriage, and then get busted for crack, coke, graft, hobbying, and spreading their feet too wide in public bathrooms.

So the question is, have you learned something important in your trade, and how has it affected your civvie life?

in hearing the Provider responses. As a hobbyist, my eyes have been opened to many things I simply could not see or relate to in my pre-hobby days.

I "entered this world" for the first time at the ripe old age of fifteen, it had zero effect on my "soul". I was so fucking drunk at the time I could barely remember it the next day. lol

But for me, I have been around this "world" my entire life, I will admit it, along with other parts of my upbringing, and being self sufficient since the age of 14, is part of my ability to see through bullshit, and my lack of tolerance for stupidity. There really isn't any mystery to fucking for money, it simply "Is" Some try to romanticize it, others try to demonize it. It's neither, sex is one of our basest urges, and there is no big mystery to it.

I'm not sure what you mean by an "official" hypocritical world.   I think the world is filled with hypocritical actions by both decent and indecent humans and always has been.  Perhaps, being in the hobby and being open minded enough to discuss it on TER means we all have more open minds and are as such may be more observant of the human condition.  But I don't think the hobby opened my eyes to political or moral hypocracy.  This was something I saw long before I picked up the phone to contact my first escort.

That said, I also tend to agree with you that if your eyes weren't open before,  this lifestyle will certainly open them wider.  Thats the message behind Kubricks "Eyes Wide Shut", which was based on a story written in 1926.  So what you're talking about is nothing new.

How could one not in all honesty - learn, grow, take away something from this world. It's impossible not to on some level.

As a woman which I am sure is a different perspective than what the men view here, sometimes it takes entering this world, doing your best to understand it, then to leave it to be looking at it from the outside in - that is when you actually see and grasp what is really going on, at least for me that is how it happened. It's not as easy for some people as it is for others. However, stripping it down is really a simple thing if kept in the simple context.

The key word is simple.

Then, if/when it's time to re-enter this world...a new perspective, a new taking of the reigns if you will, taking all you have learned about yourself through those you have been introduced to and spent time with or talked to in this world, all the while the civvie world is blurred in the background.......taking all of that to better yourself, regroup and move forward.

For some it simply just makes sense over the other.

I refuse to believe anyone enters this world unscathed for the first time...woman or john...that not one has had their soul poked, prodded, shaken and then some in some context of this process as with all things new.

As with most things in life, it takes time, experience, and simply the 'doing' of everyday to comprehend what works for an individual. I believe there are those who leave for good, those who feel like they can never leave and those who simply are curious and will stay until they simply wake up one morning and say, ok, I'm done.

Having experienced both worlds in the spectrum now, there is only one world that will work for me......at least for now, this I know....and it is...simple....... very simple.

and I didn't enter "this world" until the ripe old age of 15, not 14. Although I will admit, I grew up around pimps, whores, junkies etc. None of this has ever held much "mystery" to me, any more than the suburbs hold any mystery to the middle class.

I will agree that no two people have the same perception, which was my point when I said that "your refusal to believe something, doesn't make it untrue" You were the one claiming to speak for everyone, not me.

providers have an uncanny knack of keeping there two alternate worlds separate..how they do it is beyond me..they can have raw and passionate sex in one world yet have full and rich lives in the other..keeping that emotional balance is the key..90% are experts at it..the other 10% quickly fall into an emotional scrap heap..

I definitely had preconceived notions about this realm. I'm sure they are true in some areas but overall I'm very glad they've been disproven for me. How do I take this to my personal life? I am more determined than ever not to waste any time not doing what makes me feel happy. And I am determined to debate with people that make shallow remarks about this or any other unconventional path people take. Some specifics though:

1. Cheating doesn't make a person inherently "bad"
2. Sex and love can be separate
3. Married men aren't the only ones who do this
4. Women who do this are intelligent and can willingly make the decision to do this
5. There's different types of women that can be seen as attractive enough to do this
6. Marriages and kids can kill sex (I simply thought it was an exaggeration)

My tolerance for blanket statements was always low, but now, it hovers around zero many times.
I just can't stand dishonesty and judgment anymore

that's what happens when you make broad statements like Taylor, I was not claiming that my way is the only way, the right way, or any other way except my own. I also realize that I am by far the opposite extreme from Taylor, and that most other people are going to fall somewhere in the middle.

I will stand by my words though. Having been around P4P my entire life, there really is no "mystery" in it for me. It simply "is what it is", but that's only my perspective, I wouldn't expect your's to be the same.

We all have secrets and kinks..

I have also learned this about myself. We all wear different hats depending on who we are with and what situation we are in. Personalities change..

I actually carried over this from my career to this little adventure..
1. fake it til ya make it. If they see that you are unsure.. It's all over

but there is a mystery to this world. Absolutely.

Everyone has their own reason for being here, this world of companionship to put it nicely....'seeing through the bullshit' and 'having a lack of tolerance for stupidity' comes full circle for everyone, not just you I'm afraid.

For one to enter this world 'drunk' at 14 and the other to enter it 'sober' at 40...two different worlds my dear man. There is no possible way one would, could or should have the same perception of this world, not a chance...in the world.

And that's ok.

I will let others be the judge, but to anyone with over a third grade education, it sure looks like you are trying to speak for everyone, not just yourself.

sex is a basic urge, there are many mysteries to it, otherwise it would simply be had when you needed it the way you drink water when you're thirsty. But it's not, it's riddled with cultural and personal hangups and beliefs.

It's great that you live your life to the fullest the way you want, you are very consistent in your posts to come off as indulgent in both sex and drinking, and obviously the financial means to do both, good for you.

But it's not black and white for all, and there's nothing wrong either with people who don't over indulge like yourself, or "romanticize it". There is a spectrum and you just have to decide where you fit in and what sacrifices you're willing to make for the rewards you're going to get.

I've learned that it's impossible for me to be monogamous, I've also learned that I don't want to lie about it, but I do respect those who haven't made that decision or who treasure other things above their sex life. So yeah, there is a mystery to fucking for money, and one that's been a helluva of a trip learning about it.

I've seen what you describe, and it baffled me at first. A provider I've seen whose reviews describe a "wild child" has quieter sex with me. Still very good, but not the screaming, banging off the wall stuff described in some of her reviews. I've come to attribute that to my very mellow demeanor, and figure that her style of performing may reflect that demeanor. She may not even be aware of it

Great points, but I thought I'd add to it.

1 Sex with love is explosive and no provider has been able to give me that
2. Don't agree with point 4. I have seen some pretty dumb women in this business.
3. Oh yes about point number 6.

own personal experiences silly. No one is 'projecting' anything onto others...that would be cult-like. I don't have that kind of power now GAG...come on. But maybe with GWD and I together, who knows what we could start on here......;)

Don't conjure things up in your mind like your buddy Curly...you're just trying to start trouble as always. It's a board of opinions. You know this. That's what makes it a forum otherwise it'd be boring and it wouldn't exist, now would it.
