Just saw a hilarious article over at Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-frenemy/womens-magazines_b_746996.html#s148650 and it made me wonder. Do any providers read these magazines?

... they couldn't be included in the demographic of women who read women's magazines. They are more likely to read Maxim, GQ, or Playboy.

Now, hobbyists? Well... that's a bit different. Since they either loath all women or suffer from an oedipus complex, most read women's magazines regularly, but don't admit it, which skews the statistics.

Doh!

:)

The most perfect irony is the one where no one is even aware of it, most of all the speaker of it.

how to get a man, how to keep a man, how to dump a man

Sometime advice is all mixed up :)

My fav was "if u want to met a man in NYC, stare at someone on subway for 11 seconds"

I think in NYC staring at someone for 11 seconds qualifies as crazy person stalking

I subscribe to.

Whore! is brand-spanking new and "explores important facets of culture, sexuality, ascendancy, shame, history, and the right to be."  http://www.whoremagazine.net/whore_magazine/Whore!_Home.html
It will certainly appeal to both men and women here.

I've never read the women's magazines often found near the checkout counter.  I think I read Seventeen a handful of times as a tweener and even in my youth I realized it was hogwash.  "How to Know if He Really Likes You" or "How to Look a Model."  Blegh.  I started reading Omni instead.

I cannot believe any woman would actually WANT to spend time with a fucking troll such as yourself.

He was using ironic sarcasm. His meaning is the opposite of what he said.

But you can feel free to apply whatever terminology to me that you think will make you feel like a person of value and merit in comparison.

wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of you because of your sensual beauty.  Hope you have a great day.

Women's magazines are advertising vehicles that are used to capitalize off women's psychological insecurities.

I used to read women's magazines in middle school.  I was a big fan of the fellatio advice in "Cosmo."

:)

At this point in my life, I don't read women's magazines because they usually do not teach me anything I do not already know.  I already know how to take care of my skin, put on lipstick, and touch boys on the arm, when I talk to them.

However, I do read books... often.  I even read www.askmen.com sometimes.  I read magazines about culture.  I used to subscribe to "$PREAD," the magazine by/for sex workers.  I also secretly read online tabloids.  I don't mind reading about Lindsay Lohan FOR FREE, but I'm definitely not paying for that, you know what I mean?

Whore is absolutely a fantastic magazine.  I had to get the first copy and am looking forward to the second.  It's very expensive, though, but beautifully laid out.  But I do plead guilty to reading other rags as well.  Including the ones at the checkout counter!  All of the time!!!

Hugs,
Elisabeth
