I have this great need to hear the persons voice on the other end of the fiber-optics. Some ladies state email only. Others have the # listed. I just have no interest in the ones who are intent on eliminating the 'personable' aspect of getting together.

Ladies, sorry to seemingly leave you out of the mix here. That's not my intention. If you would like to share your ideas, please do so.

Men, what is your preference for communication?

Feel free to call me and offer up your opinions. LOL

SOME women only INITIALLY give out e-mail addresses when screening clients. When trust is established, & they realize they're not dealing with psycho-stalkers ( an occupational hazard ) , THEN they give out their phone #'s.
I have no problem with this & it's quite understandable. A provider I saw for 4 years started with e-mail only, but eventually gave me her phone # when she realized I wasn't Ted Bundy-------;)

if a client passes screening, then the hobbyist & provider should talk on the phone prior to the session to establish trust & see if they're compatible. Essential in my book.

If I can't talk to the provider prior to meeting her, then there will be no meeting. Likewise, if a provider is so jealous of her time that she is rushing me off the phone, I take that as a sign that the session will be likewised rushed.

I need at least a couple of minutes of conversation over the phone to see if we "connect" before scheduling. I is amazing how much of a feel for someone you can get in a short telephone conversation.

I've always been "email only". The biggest reason is because I'm not usually in a position to answer the phone and talk business. Like at my office, or at the dog park, the grocery store, around friends, etc. Its so much easier to respond to emails, which I can do anytime. Its also easier for me to just delete stupid emails, then to try and get off the phone. I'm a bitch, but I hate hanging up on people. And I'd rather answer 20 emails than 20 phone calls.

Once someone is screened I give them my number. They usually only call the day of the appointment, or the day before to confirm, but sometimes clients will call just to be more comfortable before meeting. Which is fine. I don't mind at all, as long as I'm in a position to talk, and it gives me a better feel for the other person as well. I don't usually have anyone stay on the phone for more than 5-10 minutes anyway.

Then theres certain clients that like to call me at 11pm and stay on the phone for 2 hours. You know who you are. ;-)

I don't answer the after a certain time. I text back saying my peace.

I hope I'm not judged by that standard.

As the owner of a real-world business, in addition to my part-time activities as Tabu, there are many times I often simply cannot stay on the phone indefinitely. Employees enter my office, needing guidance, customers require my presence... just like your job, presumably.

Even relatively unlimited phone time is relegated to weekends or after 7pm.

However, I attend quickly to emails and have excellent customer service skills-- in and out if the bedroom.

So please give those of us who can't chat long the benefit of the doubt.

First, I already get enough hate mail from insecure providers, crazy men and just overall weridos. I don't prefer the additional contact from oddballs when I make my number public.

I used to get calls from pimps trying to recruit to callers yelling the N-word. No thanks.

I reserve my private hobby number for men who have been screened and I plan to meet. For the most part, the only talking we do before the meeting is during the two call system. Of course if he explains that he'd like to chat before meeting, I would gladly accommodate his needs.

So even if her site says email only, consider contacting her to see if you'd be able to chat before meeting. Most ladies have a hobby phone, and if she wants your business and is comfortable with you, she will oblige.

Xoxo.

If a provider answers her phone, that is my #1 preference.

I do not like the phone ONLY setup if a provider screens her calls because I do not like to leave a message for a call back.

Because of that, and I'm not always in a position to speak outloud when I want to make contact, e-mail is a great alternative that i like to use.

But I will not use email exclusively. Nor will I use a webform, which is often mistakenly called an email form.

The problem with telephone alone is that voice mailboxes fill up. When a provider doesn't answer, and I listen to her message and wait for the beep only the here, "the voice mail box is full", I am pissed. I know that it doesn't take long to fill it up if some assclown calls everyfew minuts and leaves a message (which I am sure happens) but nevertheless, if at that point the provider DOESN'T have email, I just move on. Which also pissed me off, because I'm not a guy who is trying to experience as many different providers as possible.

Texting is starting to become more commom, too. I have used it but I'm not sure whether I am going to continue using it.

I prefer email for new friends with that being said I do list my phone number. After the initial screening process I always like to speak with the gentleman before actually seeing him.The reason I prefer email is because there is times when I cannot answer or will not be able to really talk, but I can get to an email.I require references so I need all info before accepting any appointment giving this info over the phone is alot more complicated than sending an email with necessary info and links provided.I have also found that when I do answer the gentleman is looking for me to come over right away which is not going to happen being that I am by appointment only.

I just a saw a wondeful provider last night. all communications were email until I called her an hour before the date.  Had  a fantastic time with her. Emails can tell a lot about a person. So it doesn't bother me if I don't speak to a provider until I make the call an hour before the date. Prompt email replies, witty email resposnes can tell you a lot about an escort. Plus when the reviews are all good, especially the juicy details, that's enough for me.

email is the only way i can be contacted by those who do not already know me WELL. we communicate via email first, and if he has read my profile or ad then he knows i require him to provide HIS telephone number in the initial email. if his email is respectful, seems sincere, and contains all the information i request, then i will call him at a day and time which is convenient for him. this is just an initial getting-to-know you conversation, and NO discussion of a possible meeting takes place at this time. i may talk to someone on the phone over the course of weeks or occasionally even months before deciding to actually see them. i may have great conversations and chemistry with someone after a couple of weeks of emailing and chatting, but then there will be that one weird thing he says or sometimes even just a vibe i may get, during that one convo that tells me i cannot see this person. so yes, i take my time. those who are impatient or who are looking for a quick/sure thing are absolutely out of luck with me.

now AFTER i have decided to actually meet someone, and AFTER we actually meet and have a mutually comfortable time, and AFTER it is clear that this is the start of an intense relationship (as opposed to the climax of one), THEN i share my number and am free to be called.

I understand the initial contact being of an email nature. I was just commenting on those that absolutely insist on NO verbal contact what-so-ever. Hell I had one young lady contact me and we talked for 2 hours. Afterward she asked when the RING was forthcoming. LOL

I took care of her; I think. Did I honey???????

can be contacted *only* by telephone, because their business model is *usually* first come, first served, and I prefer to make arrangements in advance.

That being said, I have met quite a few ladies. who, once the screening was handled, wanted to *talk* to the client to confirm arrangements and apply their intuitive powers in that milieu.  That is absolutely fine - I've enjoyed these conversations and have employed my comparatively frail mail intuition as well.

Beyond that, many consider it advisable to have these conversations in aid of cutting down on ladt minute cancellations and NCNS....

So they can avoid wasting time on the phone with someone that in the end goes absolutely no where.  Or to avoid the people who want to try to book via phone 20 mins before the time they want to see you.  Orrrrrr to X out the chance of random phone calls at 3am or so.

However, in the same breath: most ladies who state email only, will later provide a working phone number once screening is done and appt is booked.  I know I do that.  But I simply don't list my number because I get tired of time wasters as well as people calling to jack off while they hear my voice (yes it happens) or people who think it's OK to call at 3am just because they are in Las Vegas and because they don't sleep we must not either.

The email and reservation form process usually takes a short exchange and I will then provide a phone #.  Speaking with them provides a much more personal touch and lets the gentleman know that I am real and that my intent is above board.  It also helps me get a sense of how nervous he is and how I should tailor our future dinner conversation so that it is more to his individual likes and needs.

X 2

I have a very full life outside this demimonde as well and finding privacy is as difficult in the evening as it is during the day, albeit for different reasons.  Phone calls can be walked in on, overheard through heating vents/thin walls and in general are more easily (and obviously) interrupted than email communication.  As for taking phone calls in the evening.... at some point I need some "me" time!

For me, email is preferable.  There are a lot of clues that the written word can convey that the spoken word cannot.  Some people feel the same about hearing someone's voice so to each, their own.  Also, the clacking sound of typing sounds exactly the same whether it's a work communique or one to a gentleman friend.  It's much easier to beg off a lunch invite when you say (and it looks) like you're working versus when it looks (and sounds) like you're having a personal phone call.

About the only time a phone call is appropriate, and fits into my day, is when it's made as I'm leaving my driveway letting the gent know I'm on my way.  Do I want to stay on the phone for the duration of the drive, though?  No.  That's hardly safe.

If lengthy phone chats are a requirement of a gent in order to book, I'll happily lose that business.  Chances are he's either too clingy and would cross boundaries (based on my experience, I'm not trying to accuse anyone here of this), or he hasn't the means to see me anyway since most men need to actually work to produce adequate disposable income.  On the latter point, should he be independently wealthy and not need to work, I'd prefer he have hobbies to occupy himself with other than needing to talk to me all day (see my first concern).  Take up golf, or something.  ;-)

I prefer email, since I'm often in situations where I cannot answer my calls.  I also hate playing phone tag with providers.  I do prefer providers who accept first contact by email vs. a contact page on her website or by phone only.

I also see one provider who like to use text messaging, but we've seen each several times already and have developed mutual trust ...LOL.

Hmmm, and now that you can make video calls using the new iPhone4, I wonder how many providers/clients will be taking advantage of the new technology ?!  LOL!

I understand this, but no one can always answer their phone. As well, I recently was in Chicago, and my phone service sucked. I missed calls (phone never rang) and was only getting voicemail. Those who didn't leave messages missed me - even if I wasn't doing much more than painting my toenails or strolling down Michigan Ave.

In any business, if you want a person you have to leave a message. Once you do that, it is up to me (or whomever the provider might be), to call you back in a timely manner. This rules excludes phone calls made after 12midnight and before 7AM as we can assume I am sleeping. LOL

I am big on returning calls/e-mails and such. Calling me all day (every 15 - 30 minutes) until I answer makes me uncomfortable.

Kisses,
Vanica

Who the hell would do something like that to you? Keep you on the phone for hours at a time. Don't they know you have a life, and that you don't have all the time in the world to talk with a fucking idiot like that? Sounds like a fucking stalker to me. You should probably report his ass so he doesn't repeat this kind of behaviour with other ladies.

Oh, BTW, thanks for our talk tonight! It was soooo nice to hear your laugh! LOL!!! ;)

But phone conversations definitely help in the end. It could go either way with me. If I REALLY want to see the lady that bad, which I haven't yet, I'll put up with the email deal until the day of. But the ones I actually talk to, and get a feel for their charm and the fact they went out of their way to call me and get to know ME somewhat, those are the ones I'll go be with.

And in keeping with the theme here's a little sumthin for OSP.
