TER General Board

What do you get out of TER? Why do you come here? Is it for community with like-minded people? is it entertainment? For mental stimulation? To read the reviews? To flirt? To advertise?

And do you miss it when you're not near a computer?

If you don't post often- why not?

When you first became a provider or a client, did you have some guilt around doing this? Did this board (and others like it) help you get over that?

You know you could start 20 threads instead!

Ok let me try here anyway:

Why I come here? Community with likeminded people, entertainment, watching trainwrecks, and reading reviews. I also came originally for education and learned some stuff here. Not so much now, but every so often I learn something new. Mental stimulation? You're joking right! Flirting? A tiny but now and then. Advertising? Uhm no.

Do I miss it when I'm not near a computer. Well, I usually have my smart phone with me so rarely can I not be on, and I have surfed TER during Christmas church service and at a couple funerals. Yes I'm addicted.

When I don't post it is either because I really was busy and couldn't log on, or I just wasn't interested in the threads.

As for the last question, I became a client way before TER or even the internet was invented! :)

I understand you can't rate every woman walking by openly in public 1-10 with a card like a gymnastics meet but i mean much of what we say or think or at least what i say and think I would say in most situations .
Is your regular life G rated or just you do not like to expose what goes on in your head ? Or
is it that you are sort of Anon here? Thank you Curly ,  Kendall Lynn

See I am working right now. I have two PCs open. One work and another personal. I can't live without these boards. I simply can't. This is my drug..

When I have to work from office, it is very hard for me to get away from the boards for even 8 hrs.

I don't have much of regular life outside of this. Most of my friends live in other states and we meet once every few months.

My regular life is watching Baseball, Going to games, Posting on TER, and occasional partaking in the hobby....(i.e. getting laid)

In the outside world, which is very dark and cynical, I have to just pretend who I am not

It's like being part of a "secret society". It's more fun to hobby as part of a group rather than go it alone. You can't talk with family, freinds, co-workers but there are many people here you can meet both on and off the board.
There is entertainment value as well; some posters are very witty.
On some local boards there are daily theme posts and ladies post their pics and this is also a great way to "flirt" with them and perhaps get a future date.
Regarding reviews: I don't really read them (sometimes I'll skim one). It's more important for me to see that a lady has some recent reviews so she is legit. I like to be surprised on my dates.

finding new providers to meet and getting to check out their reviews, not to mention writing reviews for them.

I do miss it if I'm away from a computer.

I've been doing this for almost 40 years, so I've left the guilt stuff way behind.

You don't have to answer them all. :) I just wanted to provide some points for thought. Thank you for answering!

As far as the last question- even tho it was before the 'net, did you have some guilt? How did you deal with that?

I know re mental stimulation. Believe me, I feel you. ;) I tried finding it at P&R but failed miserably. I've given up on it except for the occasional post here and there.

Originally came here to educate myself about the hobby and to read reviews.  Found the board full of witty, nice, interesting, and funny posters who seem to enjoy sharing their knowledge of the hobby.  All of this keeps me coming back.

I post because I am bored. This is my adult facebook and most of the people here I talk to outside of TER through email or text. Yes, I miss it when I can't post...it's an addiction. I miss TER more than just the hobby in general. When I retire, I will still post...I know it lol.

I started >25 years ago, not as long as Mr. Fisher. But certainly before internet, cell phones, etc.
Never felt guilty back then - the only bad feeling was that I was "alone". Except for a few "regular" girls I saw there was no one I could talk to about this hobby or get advice. I "learned" by trial and error about scams, bait-n-switch; had a couple close calls with LE, etc. I wish there was somehing like TER back then. The newer generation has it a lot easier because of the internet/TER. There biggest concern is just finding a provider who will see someone who is under 40. LOL!

My only "guilt" has been more recent as my daughter is in now in college and I have some reservations about potentially seeing providers that are not much older than her. I've been in touch on TER with some young ladies who are in college or that age and I have this "guilt" in the back of my mind about actually seeing them.

Where that could make things a little awkward.

Did you gave no guilt because you weren't married/ cheating on someone? You didn't have reservations about being someone who pays for it?

Aww! That's pretty fascinating, and sad at the same time. Too bad we live in a world where we can't just be who we are.

Thanks for your response. :)

I had my first experience with a provider while still single just out of curiosity and for fun. No guilt.
I saw my second provider about 5 years into a marriage that had been declining almost from the begining. So I didn't feel any guilt - to me it wasn't like I was "cheating" with another woman. Paying someone was not the same as having an emotional attachment - so I felt no guilt. Plus I did it very periodically, maybe once every couple of months over the years. I think it did help keep the marriage going - for good or for bad?

One in particular I became very close to, and we are even friends today, some 34 years later, though just socially now as she is retired.

It was amazing how good my pre-internet experiences were without any kind of review system back then.  Sure a had a few clunkers, and in general the bar for the quality of service is much higher today than back then, but still I recall some wonderful providers who rocked my world.  The big problem is that you go to call them one day and the line is disconnected, and you have no idea what happened to them.

To borrow a quote...

"They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - - Carpe - - hear it? - - Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary."

I feel that way when I am here.  Posts and reviews are the poetry of our little society, and all of you are the poets.  Some make me crave a new experience, some make me laugh, some make me feel pretty damn smart, lol.  Wish I had time to post more, but I am not able to constantly be on line.  I check in several times during the day, but sometimes a thread has gone so far that my little addition may be moot at that point.  Still I enjoy the Society!

Sarah,

No, I was not surprised I found this place entertaining.  I already thought the subject matter was entertaining coming in.

What surprised me was the fact that people were so helpful.  I thought that was cool because the hobby is so UTR in real life.  So it was refreshing to see everyone talk so candidly about it.

Oh yeah, I love the language involved in describing the hobby.  DATY, CIM, MSOG, etcc.  I never knew there were so many acronyms.
