I am sure that if you explained to the officer that you were thinking of the provider....

I was daydreaming about the provider I was with last night, and did a slow roll through a stop sign today...now I have a $150 ticket.

I usually make a full stop, so this is really frustrating.  I am so mad and this is ruining an otherwise perfect day. I feel like this is getting the best of me.

Here is my question: How do I get past this and quit feeling so pissed off?  I know it is my fault and I am not whinning about the ticket, nor do I want to say that cops suck, they should be looking for real criminals, etc.

I just want to let go of this...any serious suggestions?

Just looking for some friendly advice about not feeling angry.  I'm sure this could be useful in other similar situations.

On a positive note, I'm glad this is topic amnesty day!

You must have had a really, really, really, really  fantabulous time if you are still thinking about it the next day!  And the daydreaming and reminiscing about all those wonderful wonderful sex-citing moments is certainly worth a measly traffic ticket!!

Just take a deep breath and consider yourself lucky that no one was coming from the other direction. If such had been the case, your day would REALLY have been ruined. Do like I do; learn from it, find an outlet to work out the anger. The treadmill always works for me.

no whinning that you would but the ticket took your funds, reward your cock & this will all be behind you.

In other words,

learn  a  series or two of complimentary yoga poses and learn breath control.

The asanas will focus your attention on your body in the here and now.

practice a mind stopping technique while breathing  - don't try *not* to think, simply slow it down by consciously putting as big a space as possible between the *words* you think, then try putting a space between the syllables, all the while practicing pranayama breath.

Before long, detachment (Pratyahara) and relaxation will ensue.

that the lady was on your mind this morning.  If you take the time to write the review you will re-live the date again.

Second, neither you nor anyone else was injured since no car was coming on the other street.  Go celebrate tonight.  If you are cash strapped ($150 tickets have a way of doing that to you), have a few beverages and dream about the next date.  If you still have funds, go out and get laid again.  It will put another smile on your face.

It works best if you can get in with a group that is just a bit too fast for you.

I call it bicycle therapy, and my closest friends all agree.

But that's just me.

Penny and Cyclist suggested exercise...that's a good idea.

I'm a runner, so I think I will go pound the pavement.

Speaking of pounding, I like the idea of getting laid too.

I think I will do both...and repeat as necessary.

Maybe he would have thanked me and asked for the number...actually it was a female officer.

I guess I could have gotten a ticket for being under the influence...of pussy!

If it has you hooked like this -- ruining an otherwise perfect day -- then you are letting it have some bigger meaning than it deserves and it is likely something negative.

Stuff like, "only careless and stupid people get tickets like this."  So, where does that leave you?

Or, "this is an unjust world and good people like myself should get off and not be penalized for simple mistakes now and then."  Or the big one, "I am special and the rules should not apply to me."  That's a really good one -- a friend of mine calls that his "Special Boy rule" when he gets upset by certain things and wants to make fun of himself to help let go of his reaction to it.

Or it is tapping into some authority thing with the big bad police officer telling you are in trouble and that makes you feel lousy -- maybe it taps into some childhood memory like the nun you had as a teacher in first grade who scared the hell out of kids and whacked them with a ruler when they were in trouble -- oh wait -- that's my issue.

It is just a ticket.  You are still an okay person (well, I don't know you so maybe that's not so true, but you can still tell yourself that if you want).  It does not mean the world is an awful place (though it is in many ways but the ticket does not mean that).

When it pops into your head, don't fight it, just say "interesting, there's that thought again" and let it float on by like a cloud in the sky -- because it will and you'll move on to other thoughts.

For some people, the bad thoughts dissolve pretty fast, some people will still find it pop up days later because it has hooked into something deep for them.  That's when you know its not really about the ticket.  But the intensity it has within you will definitely fade.  So remind yourself that.

One other thing to do is laugh about it -- since no one was hurt -- it has the potential to be a funny story.  I thought that was where you were going initially -- "wow, I had such a good session I blew through (ooops, you minimized it by saying you "rolled" through it) a stop sign.

Start a poll -- what things have people found themselves doing while reexperiencing the bliss of a session with an awesome provider?
