What do you think of gals who tour a lot? Why do some girls tour a lot anyways?

I just started doing little mini tours... and I enjoy them. I can see certain cities and still make money. However I also look at it as either a gal tours because 1) Of what I just said or 2) Can't hold down customers.

Not saying all touring gals are bad... in fact most seem to be well rated. Have seen a few tour though that have many bad reviews. So perhaps it is by each individual person.

When you guys book a date, do you do locally or do you try to fit in the touring gals if they have good ratings? If I was a guy, I would stick with my ATF, but heck if a good gal came into town, I'd call her up.

I am battling with myself on touring a lot or just doing it here and there. I do have a lot of regulars and when I tour I come back to being slammed.

Question open for both guys and gals. Just curious.

Dear Madam Alexandra:
Perhaps the reason that women tour is because in major cities the men would make more money and have more disposable income. Also the reason that they could tour a lot is because maybe the unemployment rate could be higher where they live and the hobbyist there don't earn enough to see her on a regular basis to where it would be beneficial to her to reach her financial and economic goals. Although the reasons are vast and varied, I am almost willing to bet that those would be the top two for those who live in blue collar cities and states.

One of the three (soon to be four) providers I've seen tours constantly. She has about 200 excellent reviews here on TER.

She likes to travel, but I suspect that those reviews create more business when she's on tour than she would get even if she worked a big city. Lots of curious guys. I know I wouldn't have seen her if she hadn't been within an hours drive on one of her tours.

and said many great, reputable gals do do that...

I have also seen and heard of rip offs doing the same.

Technically if I didn't have it so good in my city... it would make more sense to travel (even if to Chicago) where the prices are higher. I really do like the guys in my area, but it would make more sense to make more money. Oh well. Sometimes happiness and comfort means more.

Crap I was gone out of state for 5 of 7 weeks and felt funny coming back. Got to have a place called home! Security and then some.

One reason for what you do is creating happy men population ... I once lived in a small town in Midwest.  I found the number and choices of providers are very limited.  I can not remember the exact number, but there were less than 5 providers known to me in a town of about 100,000, and there was only one provider I wanted to see. I had some business travels and had to connect flights at major cities like Chicago and Minneapolis/St Paul.  I always created that layover opportunities for myself to see some big city providers.

You can make some money by touring small towns.  I think there are demands.

A provider may tour to sight see, but it is primarily to make money. Not all providers can make an adequate living by staying at home. It also doesn't mean that they can't hold down local customers. There may not be enough locals for a small town provider to make a good living.

Then some providers are just more adventuresome  then others. Not everyone wants to stay home and be bored with the same old johns.

Yes, I do see touring providers on occasion.

I enjoy seeing touring providers. As to why they tour, I was told by one touring provider ,that she had a large extended family where she lived, and also had a good job. . She felt more comfortable providing out of town.

there are VERY few states and cities I have not toured, and I think that we are incredibly lucky to have the ability to travel and make money.  I just got back from a 4.5 month tour; I drove from NC (where I live) through the south, up the California coast all the way to Portland, OR and back.  I went to every National Park along the way, as well as a huge variety other cool places - Paramount Studios, Fisherman's Wharf, the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, the Alamo, etc. - and it was all paid for as I went.  It was an awesome time.

Last summer I did the same thing, but through New England and upstate NY instead.  I've toured cross-country east to west 3 times, and north to south twice.

I seriously don't understand why more girls who are not otherwise encumbered by kids or husbands don't tour more -- I chalk it up to a lack of curiosity and/or fear on their part.  It's definitely their loss.

I would bet is why. As hobbyists, we have become accustomed to variety that is available in this hobby like nowhere else. A highly rated touring lady can move instantly to the top of the list, knowing I can see locals whenever it is convenient.
On her part, an adventurous lady can tour the US and have all costs covered by meeting new friends.

I used to tour for 4-5 days, then take 10 days off. Now, I just stay home and see less clients but it's more money. I had to change my rates every time I traveled, so this is easier now. I must admit though, I do miss hopping on a plane every other week to visit a new and exciting city, but it does not always work out that way. For instance, if you ONLY toured to visit the bucket list of destinations you would love to see, you might not make a profit. You have to go where the demand is there for what YOU provide, and for how you look, and that might be fkin North Dakota lol.

Also, don't think you HAVE TO see a ton of clients when you tour...raise your rates, and see no more than 2 a day only on select days. My motto was always one client the day I got in, 2 the next day, 2 the day after that, and only one the day I flew out. Keep in mind, that I only saw 2 if they were less than 2 hour appts. If I booked a 3 or 4 hour, I was done for that day. If I got an overnight, I was done for the entire trip.

I tried to book on hotwire.com both flight and hotel at the same time, and saved a ton of money. I think my most expensive tour was Manhattan, but I also hit Stamford for 2 days to balance things out.

Touring is something you have to play around with, and it is a crap shoot. No matter how many pre-bookings you have, don't ever take those as gold unless they are secured by a deposit, which most guys are not going to do for a touring provider. There are times you make a ton, and times you take a loss. If your home business is good enough to sustain you from a crap tour, you're fine. If not, then your tours are what is making the money you need.

Those two things just don't connect for me.  There is no correlation I know of between touring and high volume.  In fact, in my experience, touring girls tend to be higher end and lower volume.

it's bad enough that the local ladies have to deal with competition among themselves, but add the touring providers that come through here.

My first preference are the local ladies, if by chance that the locals are not available but a touring provider is, then I will go for that.

For mos of us, that would never work. It takes me at least 2 months to plan a tour. Touring does not make one any more high volume, than they could be at home. In fact, just the opposite. Do you honestly think 20 guys are all going to have money the same 3-4 days a provider decides to visit x city? LMAO...nope. Most ladies RAISE their rates whilst touring, making it even harder to see MORE clients. I know women who can see 10 guys a week staying home, and might only see half that on a tour, because not all guys are booking those same days she is in town. Trust me...touring providers spend a lot of time in their hotel rooms alone, and seeing the town. They are not staring at the ceiling all day, at least that has always been my experience.

Then again, I don't charge by the hour at rock bottom prices, so might be different for those who do. If you go to a town where the market dictates 250 and you charge 500, you're not seeing even 2 guys a day, every day you're in town. If I get even one dinner/lunch date, that is it for the entire day. I have no desire to bang for hours on end, then do it again a few hours later. It is both disgusting and exhausting for me to work that way.

I agree with this 100 percent! I have ALWAYS done better in small towns with less competition. Guys are more willing to break that "nothing above 300 an hour" bs, when they have nothing to fk until the touring gals come through. I was charging over 400 in freaking Alabama!

You just said the magic words.... "You Like to travel"  It's a beautiful choice to be able to make money and enjoy the world.. Before we get old and not able too. Or become ill. Enjoy today as if its yoru last... smile it's contagious.

However,  the word  " encumbered" it's  so nice.  Being a mother is a blessing .  Talk about  priceless.  Were responsible for another human.  It's Not about only taking care of ourselves.

"Lack of Curiosity" has nothing to do with it.  It’s a calling or our destiny.   I have No regrets.  Iam the woman Iam because of my responsibilities. Oh another thing* Those  that have a Husband don't concider it a burden. Unless, their both miserable... They have a choice to get out... It's a blessing to have a good man in their lives.  Now if the provider has a man, and still on here,  hmmm, that’s her business.... Not mind.  She made that choice…

For some,  travel  isn’t a choice… while for some it isn’t.  To each their own… Who are we  to say anything... Perhaps you could assist, or give advise?  Maybe some females wish to travel but don’t have some guidance?

I have had my travel days (Not during this life time) Back when I was  modeling in  2001-2006.
Talk about a different life style for sure...  I also realized that--- Moments  in life are more meaniful when  shared with another person.
I get asked to travel.  However, my life is great at this moment...
Never know- I may tour in the near future. Then I would change the entire donations...hehehe....

I like to take advantage of the fact that my profession doesn't require me to sit in the same room 40 hours a week. Sometimes I put up an ad when I'm on the road, sometimes I don't. It mostly depends on whether or not English is the main language spoken and if the average rate for girls is one I'm comfortable with. Also, NYC gets COLD during the winter- I'd much rather be in Hawaii!

one in the morning, one in the afternoon or evening. By driving (not flying) and staying in 3 star hotels I am easily able to stay low volume on tour.  Also, I often stay at extended stay hotels (Residence Inn, for example) where I can cook my own food and save the cost of eating out.  Really, it's not hard.  Your assumption that touring girls must be high volume is wrong.

Very well stated! The assumption that touring girls are high volume is a common misconception. I will not see more than three a day when on tour, but usually only 2 multi-hour. I don't fly and drive everywhere, so it keeps my costs down, and I can change cities if the one I am in slows down, or I just feel like stopping somewhere else on my way home.

But what I found out is that it sort of opened up another fun aspect of the hobby in that I'm now anticipating her next visit back. I can get an update via twitter or e-mail and then start planning to be available at that same time.

"Available.... but only for a limited time!!!" :)

The discussions can be more fun too as it's nice talking to someone outside the city who has different experiences.

I have few options in my area, so touring providers are great! The only problem is I live a few hours away from NYC, which tends to result in NYC pricing. My area has a high cost of living because of NYC, but we're far enough from NYC that salaries don't really reflect it. Sucks, but I have few options. Oh well.

Touring can be a lot of fun. The trick is to start by doing it the way that you are doing it. Build up your clientele a little at a time so that when you visit a city you can count on a specific amount of income and then add other cities as you do.

Over touring can become costly. Airfare, hotels, transportation, ads (try to stick to the same advertisers where you can), food (I like hotels that have kitchens because dining out everyday gets very pricey).

You want to give your clients enough time to miss you but not to replace you. (especially your home city clients). There is nothing worse than sitting in a city and paying the costs when you are slow and have all of your home clients calling for appointments.

All in all it comes down to preference. If you like to travel and see other places then there is nothing like getting paid to go on vacation. I always try to make some time to see the city that Im in otherwise it just becomes another hotel room and another airport.
