I have a pencil sharpener.  I like it.

I have a car; it's OK.

I have a computer; it drives me insane most of the time.

The more complicated technology gets, the more it drives me insane.

What guarantee is there that these androids will be any different?

(On the other hand, I do have to confess that the more complicated the technology is, the more I seem to be unable to live without it, which is part of the problem.)

Don't assume it is just the guys who will get these; the gals will want them too, so there is competition on both sides.

The gals already have the sybian. But hey, who knows how much added value there might be if arms and legs and artificial intelligence were added? I wouldn't mind hearing a sybian say: "when we're done here, I'm takin' you to dinner, and then we're goin' on vacation!" *wink*

Yes I'm a nerd. I'd prefer the VR or holodeck approach, where it's in actuality real like a dream. Not sure I could do a robot, though who knows.

and I remember that Pris was a "basic pleasure model".  But somehow I think we're a ways off from anybody duplicating Daryl Hannah in a machine shop.    I don't think any of our TER lovelies has anything to worry about.
