This thread (and the completely predictable degeneration into schoolyard antics) is a prime example of why ladies don't post often.  So many guys are more concerned about who can come up with the most juvenile insults or most creative aliases that any content is utterly lost.

So, who would I like to see post more?  Anyone with a level head, something interesting to say, an ability to disagree with a point while not attacking the poster, and a distaste for the internet "my pee-pee is bigger than yours" thing.

Is that they all act as though they are speaking for all men, as if there are no differences in our sexuality.  More interesting conversations come from honesty and differences.  What kind of mentality does it take to hide behind two levels of alias and still need to deeply pretend that you are a tough guy.   Shit, I'd rather pretend I was a sex god if I'm going to be dishonest, even with myself and behind two levels of anonymity.  But the guys here who equate being mean and low to girls with "growing a pair", haha!  That is a one way ticket to the city of trolls in my book.  I'd be too scared to do what you do, EC.  This board is creepiest when it fills up with tuff guy trolls all thinking they speak for a single voice of "manhood.". Vomit.

I'd gladly trade a small handful of attractive and intelligent female posters to lose the days of the herd of heifer has beens.  If you can round up several of your hot friends to join you here, I know that I can shove those meanie boys in front of a bus.

As Edrienne said, the response was so predictable. Often I wonder if many of the Alias posters just argue with themselves. They post under one Alias, and then call themselves a Mangina under another Alias two posts down.

I would like to see posts that get away from Shock radio bashing and more into a real discussion. What to do when your client/companion stinks/does not match her photos or whatever. This is stupid. You should be moderated for even starting such a stupid thread. When you try on a piece of clothing and you don’t like it, you put it back. You open the door and she is 80Lbs heavier than her photos and 15 years older, close the freaking door. What type of moron are you.

Let’s start discussions on threads that actually matter. We don’t have to agree on the subject matter, but it should be a subject that does matter.

It's only natural that some men here find treating others boorishly to be entertaining... there is that segment in the general population as well.  Just as those who find enjoyment in treating others with a modicum of respect and civility will also be found in the general population.  And there will be rash, idiot girls and intelligent, rational girls in the general population.  When the overall tenor of the board sinks to such a crass level, the gents and ladies who prefer discussing events, opinions and concepts politely will naturally be turned off and refrain from posting much and the board becomes what we now find it to be....

It's a sad statement that I've taken to reading the PR board just to find a little content (though they have their own issues with this as well).

If I had any faith that there could be a rational discussion here, I might initiate threads myself.  But having seen what happens whenever someone attempts this, it's simply not worth my time and effort.

If only I had a handful of hot friends!  lol  Most of the ladies who's opinions I respect do post on occasion but as they face the same treatment reasonable men do, it's likely not worth their time to post more.

scare most of the types of posters on this particular board.  But then again, so do the gals who might not be all that "attractive", as EC discussed.

Unfortunately if you look back over a year (or two or three) at the typical thread discussions, and those who participate, the "thought provoking" threads are at a minimum.  And for a myriad of reasons.  It seems that either a guy wants to just jeer all parties involved (it makes him feel like a "real man"), or will post "suck up comments to the ladies posting", which is just as asinine (assuming they are just jacking off to your "hopeful" reply.

But there are also some very interesting folks who will periodically make a comment that is thought provoking and insightful.  And just sometimes that thread actually becomes interesting to read and contribute to.  But that is a rarity on this board unfortunately.

I have no problems when the guys just want to bash each other mercilessly.  Most of us just move right along anyhow.  But it can be a shame when an interesting topic with interesting people contributing ends up "off the page" because the "guys" need a testosterone fix.

And yes, alias posts do *occasionally* go down that road.  And good natured hijinx are fine. I do have a sense of humor, after all. ;-)

However, and this is simply my observation, the vast majority of alias posts are decidedly un-funny, uninformative and provide nothing toward content beyond what you'd find written on a bathroom stall in a dive bar or crack house.  There are also more than a handful of "real" handles that behave in a similar fashion as well, so my comments are not directed exclusively at aliases.  I find it unfortunate that this seems to be what the majority of posting has boiled down to and it's of no surprise that ladies don't care to put their hip boots on to wade through it all.

If the concept is to attract more ladies (and hopefully the intelligent kind, not just those with a female version of toilet humor), then perhaps expanding the concept (in practice, not just theory) of the board to include things ladies would care to post about might make sense.  This may be a fuck board but when the topic range is limited to simply that by the near continual use of hijacks and pointless flames, there really isn't much chance for more intelligent, varied, thought-provoking discourse.

I also see nothing on the home page for Discussion Boards that says the General board is limited to fuck talk.  But I do see something that says "Please don't post messages that are mean, use foul language, or that reveal sensitive information about other people. These posts will be deleted."  There is simply a dearth of topics that don't degrade into mean-spirited, personal attacks from one foul mouthed poster (alias or otherwise) to another - or the same directed at an entire swath of people - yet these posts do not get deleted.

I understand that this board is what it is... but bear in mind that what it is, is currently dictated by the lowest common denominator and it can only be changed by those who decide to find more value in actual conversation than in pissing contests.

I personally like you posting on here. I like the passion.  But I'd say alot of the stuff is guys being guys.  We guys laugh at stupid shit and break balls.  For better or worse you are going to get some banter back and forth.  For every new ass washing post I find something creative that makes me laugh.

Honestly you have to admit, some guys just bring it on themselves.  Admit it,  you don't like the wimpy,  white knight guys.  I just say some guys need to raise their games.  Have some fucking self respect.

I decided to wait and see what posts might show up on this thread, and sure enough the evidence needed arrived over the last day.

The board has swung far too the direction of pre-pubescent boys (or political talk show hosts) thinking that the height of sophistication is making personal attacks on people who do not agree with their point of view.

Yes, there should be a place for humor on here, but some see insults as the only form of humor, or at least the only one they use.

The same guys who bemoan the absence of more women in the discussions are the ones who generally refuse to listen when some of the more interesting ladies say what attracts them to post and what drives them away.

Specifically who would I like to see post more?  Almost anyone with an interesting post—be it serious humorous, or informational.

Who would I like to see post less?  Hard to say because so many of the posts I would like to see less of are hidden behind aliases so I do not know the actual member is.

I know a lot of guy humor is "busting balls".  Perhaps I'm not expressing myself well enough if it's coming across as though I haven't a sense of humor, or don't understand that "guys will be guys".  ;-)  It's just the sheer volume of it that becomes overwhelming.... as well as the juvenile potty aspect.

I know a lot of you have to be smarter than you make yourselves out to be - how about being a tad creative (in an adult way) when doing the mudslinging?  How about leaving some topics alone and saving the "silliness" for threads that purposefully invite it (the thread on what mods look like is a great example)?  How about not hijacking every thread with mean and nasty comments?  How about taking threads that could invite a level of introspection (however poorly done, madiba's is an example) and treating them accordingly?

As for guys bringing it on themselves, sure, some do.  But it can also go overboard; kicking a person when they're down is not a trait of a real man.  As to not liking wimpy WKs....  I have to say that they bother me less than the "I'm too tough for my shirt" crowd.  Most of the time the guys who are flamed as manginas are simply speaking their mind on a matter and it doesn't fit in with this tough, internet bully, all-hos-are-worthless-pieces-of-shit-and-they're-only-value-is-in-how-cheap-their-holes-are-and-even-then-only-when-they're-sucking-my-cock crowd.  I seriously doubt the posters who espouse that attitude would ever dare do it in the presence of a live female, provider or not.  It's NOT who they really are (dear gawd, I hope not anyway), but some safe-behind-a-keyboard bullying.

In the general population, you'll find more sensitive men as well as more brash men.  The sensitive ones have value as without them, we'd likely have significantly less art, music, theatre and literature.  The brash ones have value as without them, we'd likely have less industry, business and technology.  They each work to add value to the whole - but here, the more sensitive are treated as though they have leprosy and are somehow "less-than".  Out in the real world, many of these "alpha" types rely on the "beta" types to handle the details and clean up the messes that they create when they're slaying dragons.  Why not value them here as a necessary part of the whole as well?

Speaking of self-respect, I would agree that *everyone* needs to have some.  Personally, I see the tough guys as lacking not only self respect, but an ability to respect others.  Sure, depending on the particular scenario, the manginas could show more nerve in walking out of bad appointments, in not wringing their hands in desperation when a lady doesn't reply to their email, or whatever.  Sure, rewarding bad behavior only leads to more bad behavior.

But the exact same thing (on the flip side) could be said to the tough guys.  Tough guys could show more respect to females as a group, could show more compassion to the manginas who get themselves in predicaments.  They could use their "alpha" powers to lead by example (demonstrating compassion, self and other respect, leadership, initiative), but instead, they profess to be "alphas" but act like bullies... and we all know bullies behave the way they do out of a feeling of insecurity/inferiority.   Want to talk about having some fucking self-respect?  These guys need it too!

If they truly were "alphas" then they'd understand the concept of being a man of "steel and velvet"; there is nothing stronger than a man who has compassion and kindness for those who are weaker and uses his strength to protect and defend, all the while not permitting himself to be taken advantage of, standing up for what is right and fair, and pushing actively for whatever changes need to be made to better a situation.

Where are *those* men?!  ;-)  I sure would like to meet them....
