Frankly I think some are just  not good at math.  I have seen half hour 100 and hour for 250. So if I were a client I would say "I would like two half hours for 200".  Its either they dont do math, or that someone else did their website or they really  dont want anyone longer, but then why even offer it.  I, for one, notice when they cant spell caucasian,  its like put white then or spell check.  Anyways, I guess some dont think you will notice any thing past their boobs.  And some of you dont.   But I do believe it would make me think twice.  To each their own.  XOXO

Although not common I have seen some providers charge 500 for 1.5 and 300 for 1 hour. It should be 400 for 1.5 or at worse, 450.  Makes absolutely no sense to me where this 500 number came from??  Am I missing something in provider economics? And I don't think this is a mistake, since their websites seem fairly up to date..

Sometimes, it works out to a bargain.

For example, I've seen one hour at $300 and 90 minutes at $400, which means that the added thirty minutes is at an hourly rate of $200/hr, or 2/3 of her first hour rate.

Then you look at the 2 hour rate which should be $500 if it were to continue the trend, but alas it is $600, thus wiping out any discount you had at the 90 minute rate.

Perhaps the gal doesn't like to see anyone over 90 minutes?

It's just something that we have to swallow and move on.

We want to give you a discount

2 hours is 600. We know you can't all afford that..
but you want more then an hour... Ok.. It's difficult to get involvoed in too much fun
in 30 min.. especially if you as a provider tend to run over anyway..

1 hour is 300 yes,, So you run a few min over.. ( that few min over is on my time)
if your asking for 30 min extra. we have to make something off of it and to be honest
I want you to stay for either the one hour or the two hours...

Does this make any kind of sense?

We thrive on smooth graphs charts and numbers that make logical sense.

Women take into account desires and even whims and the soft logic aspects (like giving a few minutes over anyways.)

This is the perfect example of this.

I think some providers just can't do basic math.

Of course that not what we pay them for. lol

or shaved logic, depending on the particular woman.

Either way, it's based on the Ovarian Principle. While at first glance it appear to make no sense, men can understand those ideas somewhat, as long as they keep the Principle in mind.

Ovarian is the same Principle at work when "No" may mean "No" but at the same instant "No" may mean "Yes" or even "Pick no or yes, then I'll decide after the fact."

The Ovarian Principle is right up their with Quantum Mechanics, Trickle Down Economics, or Funadmentalist Christianity when it comes to the ability of the average man to understand the nuances of it's true inner workings.

In situation where a male is faced with constant information and communication based on Ovarian Principle, such as in a marriage situation, he quickly learn to abandon traditional forms of logic and reason, and just accept all Ovarian statement at their face value, which if often followed by a ...

i honestly cannot conceive of charging a gentleman caller a premium to spend more than an hour with me, especially since i really enjoy longer engagements.  frankly, it seems to me like a pretty fucked up way to 'thank' a fellow for wanting to spend more time with me.

what you've described is not a discount in any form or fashion.  sorry, but it's just not.  i think that most people generally interpret a 'discount' as some sort of savings, and charging a $50 premium on the extra half-hour does NOT save a man any money.

....very smart man!
"Perhaps the gal doesn't like to see anyone over 90 minutes"

After an initial visit, longer play dates might (might being the key word) be in store for future visits.

Anything over an hour with someone I'm not clicking with is a slow misery and I have to dig deep to play nice!

she may want to discourage meetings that are 1.5 hours. some ladies prefer briefer encounters. one who prefers longer ones will discount the rate.

what you are missing about the economics is that rates are set to encourage the kind of business a provider wants to encourage. so any projection based on $$/minute "should" costs are not realistic.

any business is free to set rates as they please: flat rates, large lot purchase or small. the ladies have their preferences, like in any business.

...for charging a $50 premium for the extra half-hour -- to deter gentlemen from booking dates of that length.  oy.

then there are lost opportunity costs, too. but i didn't want to go into that much detail originally. i was simply trying to encourage the OP to think outside of the box of his own POV.

so.... lost opportunity costs.....

if one is working a set schedule an extra half hour here and there may eliminate the possibility of an hour engagement. so by accepting the 1.5 one may have to decline another 1.0. not everyone is willing to accomodate a disruption of daily schedule: folks with school, other jobs, families, etc.

so there are strictly economic reasons to deter it, rational grounds for having a preference.

i hoped you were staying safely dry... apparently so since here you are?

If you didn't want to have appointments of over an hour why list them at all.  A simple $300 an hour, contact me for longer sessions would suffice.

Claudius was white knighting and giving too much credit where none is deserved.

Of course any business is free to charge what they want.  We are also free to be amused at poor pricing strategies.

to point out that businesses structure their fees to encourage the kind of transactions they find desirable and discourage less desirable transactions?

Your POV makes no sense! You obviously are bad at business. You are simply too rigid in your thinking. A good business will charge a premium for transactions that don't fit their business model rather than throw away problem clients entirely.

Are you too dull to understand that your "simple $300 an hour, contact me for longer sessions" may work for you but would not work for various ladies? It is vague and uninformative and encourages inquiries which are likely going to waste time.

Really, who are you to think you can make rules for folks with the good sense to know that YOUR preferred "business model" is inappropriate to their circumstances? LOL!

Marketing 101 allows that pricing be used to encourage certain buying patterns while discouraging others.  Many ladies have above average single hour rates, but have multi-hour rates that are closer to the norm.  This suggests that they want to encourage the longer dates.

Other ladies have higher rates for multi-hour dates than their single hour rates would indicate. This suggests that they do NOT want longer dates.  I appreciate the former, as this lady wants to spend a more relaxed time as I do.

There's also the per unit view vs. the per hour view of Provider Price Modeling.  But that's for more a discussion for the ladies and not us.

Realistically it should be $450 or a little less if they want to give you incentive to see them for a longer period.  As a consumer, I would think it would be stupid to pay more than the hourly rate for an extra half hour.  But it must work for whoever uses this model, otherwise I doubt it would be on their website.  Maybe they have to work harder the extra half hour to make you cum again.  Whatever the case may be idependents are independent for a reason.  They get to make their own rules.

"Makes absolutely no sense to me where this 500 number came from??"

It could because it's difficult to schedule on the half hour, so she feels she may lose a half hour of business on a one and a half hour session.

If you do the math correctly, 300 per hour means that it breaks down to 150 per half hour. So even if she does charge 500 for 1.5 hours, it isn't that big of a deal, only 50 bucks more.

I don't know about you, but if I really want to see the lady for that extra half hour, 50 bucks isn't going to make me say no. Especially if she has an established reputation for providing great service, and she is a hot girl. I have no problem dishing out 500 for a 1.5 hour session.

In saying that, she has to have reviews with 8's and above for appearance.

I do have a problem with "Average" looking providers charging elite rates for their services. Don't get me wrong ladies, most of you are beautiful women and your rates are well deserving. But I've encountered some ladies that maybe their best days have past them by. If that's the case, you need to properly adjust your rates accordingly.

Why does it have to make sense to you? If that bothers you then hit "Click Next" because if her rates bug you you will probably be bugged about other stuff with her. Why ask why? Trying to figure out why people do shit they do is a total waste of time my Man. Keep looking until you find a sweetie that tickles you and your sense of proper rates.

Just an Old ugly fat fuck with an opinion

And one hour dates probably arent one full hour, it probably just mean 1 or 2 pops, whereas the 1.5 may come with multiple pops or other perks (e)

is the aggregate # of hours we are all spending on this thread.. (e)

doesn't mean she knows jack shit about pricing.

There is this one prostitute I go to who's rates are

30 min 160
60 min 230
90 min 300
120 min 400

Even if I was inclined I would never go for the 120 minute offer there.  I just see her for the 30 and 60 minute session.
