Would you have had the same reaction if he had said 'Gorgeous blonde?' or even 'Gorgeous Latina girl?' To me, he's just describing what she looks like. Same as black hair, tall, etc.

I used to work in a place that was very racially diverse. It was astounding the lengths people would go to avoid describing people by their race. For instance, 'The really tall guy with big glasses who sometimes comes in with a blue coffee mug and has purple shoelaces' instead of, 'the really tall black guy.' It was kinda funny sometimes.

I'm white, and my bff is a different race than I am. She refers to me as 'la blanquita' (little white girl) to all her friends and family. It's the easiest possible way for her to describe me and have them know who she is talking about. I describe her as my hot Latina friend sometimes (she has the hotttttt Latina look so it's just an accurate way of describing her. She has that Colombian model kind of look).

What struck me was he didn't describe the other girl at all, but felt it necessary to point out the second girl was black.  If he'd described the first girl I probably wouldn't have noticed it.
