How long should I wait?

I just returned from a vacation in Florida.  I made a date with a well-reviewed provider about 10 days in advance.  She asked that I call the day before to confirm and get directions to her incall location, which I did. She also asked me to call her from my cell to get directions to her building once inside the complex.

I got to the location about 10 minutes early and as directed called her from my cell.  Got her voice mail and left a message that I was waiting to hear from her.  The appointed time came and went with no call.  I called her number again, and again got voice mail.  I waited around for about 45 minutes past the appointment in the hope that she'd show up.  Which she did not.

So here's the question:

How long is an appropriate time to wait for a provider under such a circumstances?

I would love to hear from hobbyists and providers alike regarding this.

I have been in that situation too many times.  I decided that 15 minutes is proper.  I realize this problem goes both ways

My Darling,

I think that you showed more than enough patience. Even though we discussed this already, I think 15-20 minutes past the appointed session time is fair.

Unfortunately you don't know in this kind of situation if she is hung up somewhere, if there has been an emergancy ect.

Many providers complain that gents are late or come too early. These are valid complaints, but some ladies need to at least show a bit of respect when it comes to the gents. I personally call my gents the day of the date to make sure we are on the same page and time frame. I usually call from my car if I am stuck in traffic and give them an update. It takes alot of trust to drive to a date with a lady and know you havent spoken to them since the day before. i know it goes on all the time, but it just seems too risky, when you are considering your time and effort to get there.

I guess my answer would be, you stayed more than enough time. I do hope she is ok and nothing bad happened that prevented her from seeing you. But if she just blew you off...well thats another story and its time to move on.

Kisses,
Lass

It has happened to me, well reviewed lady, seeemd very interested in meeting me.

I waited about 1/2 hour, then left. I never received an email or phone call even though she had my # and email address.

Very imature, unprofessional behaviour.

She is OK.  She called me 2 days later with an apology and an explanation that another client had extended his time with her from the evening before and she wasn't able to contact me.

She sounded so apologetic and sweet that I even gave her a second chance and met with her later in the week.  She was very good, but not nearly a Celtic Lass!

Love ya and I'll see you soon.

F.

If I'm traveling to her, I'd wait 10 minutes after the appointment time before leaving. My thinking is that if she's not already there, then there's not going to be a meeting. If she's just wasn't able to answer the phone when I called, then she should be able to call me back within 10 minutes.

If she's coming to see me, I'd wait 30 minutes in case she got caught in traffic.

Something similar happened to me once. I set up the appt the day before, she had said she would email me directions. Next morning there was no email, but I headed to the hotel anyway.  Called her 30 min before getting there. Got her vmail. Called her 10 min later.  Got her vmail. Called her 10 min later again while waiting in the parking lot. Got her Voice mail.  I call he one more time at 10 min later - just in case.  Voice mail again. I left. All my messages were very polite. No, I did not leave my cell number for her to call back, I have learnt the hard way not to give it out.

Later in the day I sent her a polite email asking if she was OK.  She responded and apologized, she said she had forgotten and not set her alarm to wake up. But she did not offer to make it up, in fact she told me that she got alarmed with all the calls I made and she thought I was obsessive!!

Did she really think that after I had rearranged my morning plans and driven 25 miles through driving rain, that I would just leave after a couple of messages?

Sounds like you did the right thing.  I guess that there are just some providers out there that don't realize that they're really a service oriented business, and simply don't act like one.

I have no problem if a provider gets jammed up and calls me to re-schedule wit a little lead time.  At least enough to initiate a Plan B (find another provider),  Interrestingly enough, when the appointment went south, I did a very feminine thing, I went out and spent the money on some new shoes!

I once had a provider show up 4 hours late to my hotel room.  She called just before with some excuse.  She's known for being late but after 2 hours I had totally written her off.  I had a good time but I would absolutely never see her again because of that.  I'm starting to lose my patience with providers and I'm a patient person.
