I personally would take heed of their character and distance myself. They have already shown they would do harm to others for their own gain. How would  you know exactly where they draw the line? More importantly, what makes you think they won't do the same to you? Old saying *When someone shows you who (what) they  are, believe them!

You have the question backwards - why would you want to be involved with someone who is a thief? Yeah, I know, it is a thrill that she is ripping off other guys and treating you well. You get to enjoy her thievery vicariously and feel like you are smarter, better than those other guys somehow.

She's not a thief. Maybe the guy didn't pay up. Give her a break.
