How do providers verify you?

I basically got stood up the other nite. I called this provider a few days before to see if she was available for afternoon date, she was an independent. A few days I call her a few hours before I plan to leave her direction to verify availability (I hate driving to far away). A few hours later I call her for directions she gives general directions and to call back when I am close. I call back and then nothing no phone call answered no call back. I really felt like I wasted my time and effort to drive to another part of town.

The only thoughts I had were that I was able to be verified? I was not rude, nor was explicit on the phone either. She didn't really ask me to many questions.

I am half tempted to post a review on her but don't want to tarnish a name for a Women just protecting herself.

Maybe some can give a noob like me some tips? Thanks

Providers should ask you for any verification information long before they set an appointment and have you coming to see them.  In this case you just have to chalk it up to experience.

BTW, TER doesn't allow you to review a provider that you did not actually meet.  You can post your experience on one of the local message boards but that's about it.

First, there's a board for these questions where you'll get lots of help.  It's immediately below this one on the list at the left.  Second, chalk it up to shit happens.  Third, contact her and ask if she can explain what went wrong.  A week later, if you've received no answer, post it on your local board and mention her name, while explaining what happened like you just did.

Oh, and then be prepared take some heat if she's popular in your area.

Well honey, sorry you had that experience your first time out. As for checking your references that should have already been done.

But there is really no excuse for giving you the Voice Mail solution.  But you will find it happens.

Here's my feelings.  In todays cell phone age there is no reason not to be in contact.  If either a provider or date no shows and the other party calls and gets a VM - and the receiver then fails to return the call, at least with an explaination - to me it's not only rude, but very unprofessional.

I had a situation where a date was involved in a car accident on his way to the date.   I was pissed at him for standing me up.  Then several days later he called me from the hospital to apologise, and we did eventually hook up.

But remember folks, while this may be a "profession" it doesn't always draw the highest caliber person.  So like I often say - if you want punctionality and responsibility - date a Marine...

Giggle,
TS Jamie

As others have said, this usually happens before she gives you any directions, even general ones.

Maybe she had an emergency, or her cell phone died, or maybe she just flaked.  Providers are people just like hobbyists.  Stuff happens.

If she's a good business person, she'll try to make things right or at least explain herself.  You might want to give her the opportunity before outing her.
