If some of the hobbyists posting on the board are actually providers acting like men ? They will post reviews, post messages, etc to act like they are male but they are a provider collecting intel.

I don't see an issue with a provider assuming a male name or "collecting intel".  This is a free market, not a combat zone, and "intel" is a GOOD thing; it makes customers happy.

Phony reviews are up to TER staff & us to spot, and people (M/F) posting phony reviews are normally AFAIK banned.

I have been aware of a certain masquerading persona for quite a while now. I would also add that this board persona is one of the more popular TER posters too. The only reason I am certain of this is because I once saw a reply post by her friend that accidently outed her, but a half hour later the the outing post was gone. The SPs that are reviewed by this persona are all friends and all get high scores. The reviews are very efficient and while using the obligatory abbreviations, they never really describe the action. No question about this particular reviewer/poster, but I also suspect a couple others that also arrived on the scene here at about the same time and have similar styles of reviewing.

methods for determining multiple personas from a single IP address.  A provider masquerading as a hobbiest, unless they log on from distinct locations will be caught by TER.  If you know of a problem, contact STAFF or call the person out on the boards and let the community deal with the imposter.
