Legal Massage versus Sinful Prostitution

Isn't it a strange world where it is respectable to offer therautic or even Tantric massage and illegal, immoral, disgusting, degrading, etc. to massage a guy's cock? Our Judeo Christian societ sure has it all screwed up. Sure there was a time when we had to suppress sexual desires to keep population under control. Today however, with the use of birth control to keep population under control and condoms to keep STDs under control why good reason is there not to enjoy the pleasures of the body?

I often visit massage therapists quite legally where I expect to receive an hours worth of attention from the therapist. She feels that it is a fair trade, her time for my money. She does not complain that I am a slightly overweight married man in my forties. She feels she is giving me pleasure and earning her pay. I feel it is worth my money for the pleasure that I receive. The same is true when I visit a full service provider.

When we're talking about the "Judeo-Christian" ethics imposed on hobbyists and providers alike by the general society, could we please put a hold on the "Judeo" part? This is something imposed on us by Christians, who after all pretty much run things here in the U.S. See, for example, George W., Cheney, Ashcroft, etc. I don't see any need to drag the Jewish faith into this.

How about we don't bash anyones religion and just call it a day.

The current legal "jihad" being conducted against providers and hobbyists has, as it's root, the issue of morality. That is, somebody's morality is being offended sufficiently so that they should lock us all up, if possible.

Violations of some amorphous morality are not a prosecutable issue in a secular society, but it is a predominate theme in virtually all religions. Christianity is not only the dominant religion in the United States, but also is a proselytizing religion. Historically, Christians have attempted to convert others to their faith, and (in general) believe that the world would be a better place if everyone would be Christian. This is why Islamic people get so concerned when George W. speaks of a "crusade" while fighting terrorism - crusade to them speaks of invasion (see religious crusades in the Middle ages).

So, it's not so surprising that conservative Christians who wield secular power, use it to impose their morality through laws to imprison participants in this hobby. Prostitution laws in this country don't spring out the head of Zeus like Athena, they arise because someone's trying to impose their morality on the rest of us.

HL Mencken once wrote that:
"Puritanism is the deep-rooted and lurking fear that somewhere, someone is having a good time".

Still applies today, non?

Agreed. This is more about morality and politics, and the desire of a few to keep some women from earning a living on their own. Religion (as is almost always the case) is just a convenient way to disseminate information and impress one's agenda on the masses.

jeez, if there were only more quality massage available. For
every genuine expert legit therapist there are at least a dozen
phonies whose basic attitude is do the minimum actual work but
package their laziness in some fancy dan "modality" like myo-fascial release, reiki (phooey, double phooey, and quadruple phooey!!!) or cranio-sacral therapy. Gaaawd what a self serving load of baloney. Real massage should be intense, focused, and pleasurable. Sometimes painful if the tissue required that. Too often I have lain there while the massage person yaks away whilst putting in no more effort than spreading margarine on warm bread, or mucks around with useless esoterica.
Well, enuf is enuf and I have lost all patience with above noted incompetence. And so should you. Now, if I'm not getting
a good physical vibe, on some level, I'll come out and say that this isn't working, get my stuff together, and leave.
The operating concept here is "earning her pay". Too damn many clients are either willing to settle for mediocrity or unwilling to confront someone for slacking on the job.
Oh, you'll get a few incredulous looks, hear plenty of whining ( oh, man, is this world full of whiners who feel so
hurt when you call them on their silly games ) and an earful of explanations. Don't buy it and don't settle for it. There is absolutely no reason to. They know exactly what they are doing,
or not doing, and they are hoping you aren't on to their game.
Fine and dandy. Having said that, there are also a fair number of people out there who are willing to do what it takes, but they don't know the right technique because noone ever showed them. In this case, you have to be willing to demonstrate exactly what it is that you need. In many cases I have asked the girl to let me work on her for a short while, or mimed exactly the strokes, pressure, and direction, and resultantly have a slew of women who now work a lot more in my own style.
Western women out of massage school don't go for this because they are trained to be so precious and paranoid about client-therapist boundaries, and, shudder, involvements...
A percentage of these perky suburban types have been good, but not spectacularly better than many of the immigrants, with a couple of exceptions, and they can't deal with the idea of sexual arousal too well...
