When we're talking about the "Judeo-Christian" ethics imposed on hobbyists and providers alike by the general society, could we please put a hold on the "Judeo" part? This is something imposed on us by Christians, who after all pretty much run things here in the U.S. See, for example, George W., Cheney, Ashcroft, etc. I don't see any need to drag the Jewish faith into this.
jeez, if there were only more quality massage available. For
every genuine expert legit therapist there are at least a dozen
phonies whose basic attitude is do the minimum actual work but
package their laziness in some fancy dan "modality" like myo-fascial release, reiki (phooey, double phooey, and quadruple phooey!!!) or cranio-sacral therapy. Gaaawd what a self serving load of baloney. Real massage should be intense, focused, and pleasurable. Sometimes painful if the tissue required that. Too often I have lain there while the massage person yaks away whilst putting in no more effort than spreading margarine on warm bread, or mucks around with useless esoterica.
Well, enuf is enuf and I have lost all patience with above noted incompetence. And so should you. Now, if I'm not getting
a good physical vibe, on some level, I'll come out and say that this isn't working, get my stuff together, and leave.
The operating concept here is "earning her pay". Too damn many clients are either willing to settle for mediocrity or unwilling to confront someone for slacking on the job.
Oh, you'll get a few incredulous looks, hear plenty of whining ( oh, man, is this world full of whiners who feel so
hurt when you call them on their silly games ) and an earful of explanations. Don't buy it and don't settle for it. There is absolutely no reason to. They know exactly what they are doing,
or not doing, and they are hoping you aren't on to their game.
Fine and dandy. Having said that, there are also a fair number of people out there who are willing to do what it takes, but they don't know the right technique because noone ever showed them. In this case, you have to be willing to demonstrate exactly what it is that you need. In many cases I have asked the girl to let me work on her for a short while, or mimed exactly the strokes, pressure, and direction, and resultantly have a slew of women who now work a lot more in my own style.
Western women out of massage school don't go for this because they are trained to be so precious and paranoid about client-therapist boundaries, and, shudder, involvements...
A percentage of these perky suburban types have been good, but not spectacularly better than many of the immigrants, with a couple of exceptions, and they can't deal with the idea of sexual arousal too well...
