I generally look at reviews that go back one year, considering anything older pretty stale.  People change, and providers are people.  That said, the reviews that go back 2, 3 or 4 years do serve a purpose in that they tell a prospective client things like how long that provider has been in the business.  Also goes to looking for consistency in service.

Another popular board will allow a search that can refine a date range for a provider.  Although I don't particularly like that board, the fact that this feature, and the ability to see all header data for each review (TER only posts the headers from the original post, like, DFK, DATY, etc) can actually give the searcher better information and consistency data.

I think a two year cap on reviews would be a good idea but then a provider should be precluded from showing any photos that are beyond that time frame as well...fair?

TER instructions for completing reviews has an interesting comment on this subject.

"9.  Each review must recount a visit that took place within the last three months in order to be timely. A lot can change with a provider – even in this relatively short amount of time."

I would definitely agree with you on this subject, Misty. I generally look at several recent reviews, until I see a pattern being established. After that, its up to me to behave myself if I want a similar date.

While I understand your point, I think they should be left up.  If I'm concerned that the gal might be "high volume" all I need to do is check the first review to determine when it was & do the simple math.  

But in addition to establishing consistency, the older reviews may also serve an additional purpose...to see what guys have reviewed the lady in question.  I put a lot more stock in a review if I'm familiar enough with the reviewer to have an idea of whether or not we look for similar things.  Also, I look beyond the scores & the profile...I want to see how the time spent is described.  

I'm sure if the space taken up becomes an issue STAFF will do something about it out of necessity.  Until then, IMO if it ain't broke there's no point fixing it.

I've noticed many Boston providers with consistently good reviews end up changing their name at some point. Then they start all over getting the same scores as before. I've even seen some with practically the same photos. I mean, I can understand a gal with poor reviews attempting to change personas, but a well-reviewed provider? Maybe it's trying to avoid the high-volume thing....
