Any other suggestions than a burner phone, I am worried that it will be discovered by the wife.

I have a type of calling card (via Reliance Global), but you can only make international calls with that. Are there other calling cards you can use locally (US). Problem there is they can't call you back.

THen I looked at google voice for my smart phone, but not sure how that would work?  Can I initiate calls with that so it doesn't show up on my phone bill? Any ideas

Thanks!

One high tech solution is to get a Google Voice number and install GrooveIP on your android so that the calls are over IP (won't show up). Dump both programs into a program which will hide it called "AudioControl". It looks like an audio app and a call or text would trigger an error notice. There are other hiding programs which require root and it will leave no trace even to a skilled techie geek. Tweaking around options will allow you to do whatever you can think of, but get used to typing in security codes.

Consider running your google line or whatever contact number you obtain though google itself BEFORE you begin contact.  Make sure the number is not already attached something to much more ridiculous than what you would like to represent.
I have had royalty from the south pacific and the wife of a wall street broker, contact me just today.

Just a thought

I have a Skype account, but I don't have a number through them.  Not sure if that would work.  You can delete the call history, I believe.  It does ring on all of the devices that you have the account set up with.  Not an issue if you just have it on your one phone though.

Great app. Gives you a number. Nothing ever goes on phone bills. Works crystal clear thru wifi but also ok through cell towers. Just link it to your email.

One feature I like is that you can't receive pictures texts. Odd but when I was dating and used my real number guys always thought it was ok to send unsolicited pictures, and they would pop up on my iPhone.

app for iphones? Or just a disposable mobile phone?

If the latter, try the burner app if you have a smartphone. It's wonderful!
http://burnerapp.com/

If you know about that but want to hide the app, you can do so via the following methods:
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/09/19/how-to-hide-apps-folders-and-place-folders-within-folders-on-ios-7/

Keep in mind that when you "disappear" your app, you can always find it to use by doing a spotlight search. It will also reappear once you reboot your phone, so remember to repeat the process if you have to reboot for any reason.

Good luck!

I suggest you use an outside BBQ to burn your phone but really just using it for a wheel chock on a truck is pretty much as effective.  (Just Joking)  Trak Fone.  My Grandmother keeps a burner phone in her car.  Doesn't use it...  just there for emergencies.
