Ever hear of paragraphs?

If you write long reviews, do them in short paragraphs.  That way we can read fast or even speed read.  A loooong review done in one run-on paragraph will be largely ignored - just takes too much time to find what you are looking for.

Of course, no all-caps either. It makes me dizzy and I never read it.

Proof read before hitting the post button.

There's nothing like some polished prose to make your case more convincing.

If I write the review right after I see the lady, I'm usually so excited I ramble on in one paragraph..I'm guilty!!  If I wait until later or the next  day  i tend to capsulize.. not quite as graphic..but I forget things!!   God I'm getting old!!!

My big gripe is there is not opitical or manual kerning of the font.  That would help with readability too.

Look, we have all gone to a provider that was super nice but uglier than a mud fence. I cannot tell you how many of these girls get an 8 or better for looks. Behonest. If she's ugly and you want to see her again, just don't leave a review. I hate these surprises.

I would gladly use paragraphs if I knew how.  I realize this is one of the basic fundamentals of email, but I 'learned as I went', and have no idea where to learn more.   The biggest problem I see with technology is it's assumed all us old-timers already have the basic knowledge that the younger generation is taught early on.   I suspect there's alot more like me out there, most of us just won't admit our lack of knowledge.       Wanna get rich quick??  Forget all this fancy cutting-edge techno trash, teach basics!      There, rant is over, I'll go back to being me. lol.

To make paragraphs in a simple text editor (like the one TER uses), just press the return (or enter) key twice.

Well, a few  ideas :

1. write the thing in an email  and send it to yourself if you're composing immediately after the event.  Next day, when you've calmed down, you'll be able to reread and edit with a much clear and critical eye.  Remember, you have at least 2-3 months to submit a review for any given session.

2. create  documents in Word, or WordPerfect [if that still exists] or even the Word Notepad.  And again, when you're of sounder mind and calmer pulse, reread, edit, cut and paste.

3. YOU DO have the ability to edit the review AFTER you're submitted it.  Imediately after submitting it, go to the Account Manager and hit "My Reviews."  You will see a button labelled "Edit" next to your latest gem of carnal reportage.  I'm not sure how long this option is available - with my most recent review, it was still in the edit stage 12 hours after I submitted it.  But I've seen the edit function in the Account Manager made unavailable in as little as 2 hours.  I think a review is capable of being edited until some on TER staff reviews it.

It's that simple - just hit enter/return twice.  Unless I screw up, I like to have 2 or 3 lines between paragraphs.  Makes the review easier to scan through, I think.  Sure does for me at least.

Here's something I do most of the time.  When i'm composing, I use a big font size [12 or greater] and boldface everything.  It gives me a much better idea of what I'm doing and how the prose flows [or doesn't], problems with punctuation and spelling, and what the whole thing looks like.  When you're gotten it as good as it's ever going to get, reduce the font size and unbold it.  You are not, AFAIK, able to do this in the TER form, so again, it's recommended that you create a Word document or an email to yourself where you can work out these organizational and stylistic problems before happily bestowing your sage advice  to the oh-so-eager hobbying community at TER.

I take pride in writing my reviews but on occassion the several paragraphs I've written become one long run-on paragraph after the good folks at TER are finished with it.

Which is why I adopted the practice of 2 or 3 lines between each paragraph.

Since I started doing this, the reviews on TER look pretty much the same as the reviews I compose [but I notice, no qotation marks in the reviews seem possible].

I believe that would be "grammar".  Moral to the story: we all make mistakes, some more than others.

That's happened to me alot too. I write long descriptive reviews and sometimes for some reason my paragraphs get merged.
