Tired torn twisted just dont give a shit any more!!  Tired of the lies tired of the games not just here but every where.  Are there very few hearts left in the world or Are most people just out 4 themselves. But, it sounds like you want something from others, and don't have what they want, to get them to give to you. A sure sign of depression. If so, time to get help. about gambling. Never gamble any more than you can afford to loss. The long version regarding trust is, we tend to talk and feel about trust in terms of all or nothing. Either we trust someone or we don't. To prevent getting burned, determine what you are willing to entrust to someone: money, time, personal information, feelings, etc., then determine how much you would feel comfortable in entrusting to them. It's best to start out small, and see what they do with it. If they are trustworthy with that, consider entrusting a little more to them the next time. Beware! Most anyone can get to the point where what has been entrusted to them causes so much distress, they will fail, either because of greed, performance anxiety, etc.

First off, I'm not going to lie to you: anytime you engage in a lifestyle outside of established social norms, you will find people who go against social norms in OTHER ways as well. Sometimes, that's a good thing; but sometimes it isn't.

There is a well-established correlation between psychopathic traits and corporate success; meaning that in any endeavor whose primary selection criteria is money; you will disproportionately include psychopathic people or, at a bare minimum, narcissistic people.

When you combine these two factors, do not be shocked to find some people in the hobby who are not very nice people.

HOWEVER -- these things are just odds, and you CAN stack the deck in your favor.

I have never had a provider harm me in any way. Providers I have seen have always been honest with me as best I can tell, they have never betrayed my trust, taken undue advantage of any vulnerabilities they might discover or anything else untoward. If anything, I have gained positively from providers in myriad ways far more valuable than the money I have paid them.

So ... is that because I am somehow special or live a charmed life? No. Not at all.

It is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE within the hobby to surround yourself with good, decent, admirable and respectable people. It is simply a matter of prioritizing this, rather than superficialities, in your choices.

Just because someone has sex with you doesn't mean they can be trusted; though the hormonal effect can be to lead to that trust. Rather, you should ascertain whether someone is trustworthy BEFORE you have sex with them, so you can make that assessment in a rational way devoid of infatuations and stuff.

The issue, therefore, is not hobbying, hobbyists, or providers -- but rather, the choice within that arena of those with whom you will spend your time. Read that sentence again.

Sometimes there is wisdom in old sayings. Here is one: “If you continue to think what you have always thought, you will continue to do what you have always done.  If you continue to do what you have always done, you will continue to get what you have always gotten.”

Bad things can happen to anyone. We ALL make mistakes, or can fall victim to duplicity. But when a pattern of horribleness emerges; that isn't an accident. Rather, it is a result of wrong actions caused by wrong thoughts.

And THAT means that your destiny is within YOUR control. YOU have the power -- real power -- to change things.

So, to quote another cliché, today is the first day of the rest of your life. Change things. Make it happen.

You can rule your impatience and stop making assumptions about what folks ought to be. Context and drivers. Trust is earned never given and it's always in flux. You need to live with your eyes open all the while not let experience harden but temper you. Filters are useless simply because the idea implies a set static component. An evaluation is constantly evolving.

and I'm not just saying that for purposes of cheering you up, I'm being dead serious.  I agree 100%, most people suck and are selfish pieces of shit with hardly anything positive to contribute to humanity. The key is, just realize and come to accept the fact that we live in an imperfect world, and once you do that, you'll come to some sort of peace if that makes sense...once you learn not to expect much out of people, take people/life with a grain of salt and realize "it is what it is", it immunes you from the negativity.  People are people and they are not going to change...it's been this way throughout the ages of time.  Don't take life too seriously, really.  Just learn to take more of a firm stance with people and let it be known you're not anyone's doormat.  You'll get there, we were all once there, until we realized what the world's really all about and learned how to take a stance against it.  Hang in there bro, you'll make it, we all have.

Some friendly advice:  I, too, get frustrated by mis-spellings,  bad grammar and incomprehensible posts on the Boards.  But correcting them is fruitless.  You won't stop people from posting unreadble drivvel and you'll get flamed for your efforts.  But, if you must, continue in your quixotic efforts.  You'll have my support, though not my assistance, LOL!

I could add a lot of detail, but really, they have caught the gist.

If I were to summarize my own approach; I'd say I apply the same criteria to providers as I would a girlfriend.

Really, if you think about it, often we put providers in just as powerful a position as a girlfriend, so they should be vetted accordingly.
