In order for them to hobby the women has to be really attractive. If you compare what is available today compared to a few years ago the attractive are few and far between.

People are doing things with their money that gives more value for the future. They are paying down debt and saving for retirement.

In a few years when the baby boomers retire they will be a renewed interest in the hobby.

The stock market returns have been pretty good in the last year. People feel richer I expect to see an increase demand for hobby services in a few months.

I cut back and made a killing of the market the past 2 years. I made all the money money back that I spent in the hobby.

I use to be like you at one time and spend all my extra money on the hobby. I invest and use the gains to hobby with.

Wow, it's good to know I'm not the only one on the boards who understands finance and economics...   I don't dabble with them professionally, I'm a programmer/software developer, but I work at a financial institution of sorts.

People are starting to realize they can't have debt hanging over them for decades.  Recent graduates from private universities are graduating with upwards of $140k in loan debt.  People I work with are still paying off their student loans 5 to 10 years later.

Not hobbying for a few months and investing that into a high yield investment could pay big time.  You have the option of getting some guaranteed fun or you can be a little risky and possibly get a whole lot more fun and possibly off-set past costs associated with hobbying.  It's all in the utility function. ;-)

The hobby is a bit more expensive than golf, I'll grant you that, but it is a hell of a lot less expensive than my previous hobby. lmao

I have no idea why investing and the hobby have to be an either/or situation, just make more money and do both, that's what I do. lol

I was married for several years, and I never hobbied during that period of my life.

EXACTLY! Ladies in the biz that want you to pay for pictures are not too smart about getting business. I've passed on countless traveling ladies because they wanted me to join some site or pay for memberships to a site before seeing their gallery. If you are in town for three days, do you really want to spend your time doing administrivia? What a joke!
