Had an appointment for 11 AM today but didn't hear back until 11:40AM . She said she was in a car accident and "still talking to the officer".  Seems totally bogus for several reasons I don't want to get into as it involves some lengthy explaining... Anyways I don't think I want to see this provider again. Even though I've seen her before and had good sessions. Something about this NCNS and this lame excuse has rubbed me the wrong way..

What lame excuses have you heard? And what usually causes these NCNS? I think she was probably trying to get more clients as she booked the room just for me. When those failed to materialize she probably decided to abort. Although I did agree to pay her $50 above her rate for booking the room.

My ATF missed an appointment one time and said it was because she was at the dentist and completely forgot about our appointment.  Lame excuse or not, it was a bad feeling to have set aside the time and not know what happened.  Since I know what it is like to be on the receiving end, I totally get it when providers complain about no shows, and they have the financial loss to be unhappy about as well.

involved pretty good excuses. They might have been bogus, but if so at least they were imaginative.

But I have had a few last-minute cancellations that didn’t have a good excuse.  Those were nearly as bad as NCNS in that I was almost there for the session.

They’re common from both sides of our P4P spectrum apparently. Several years back, a couple of providers local to me with decent averages across many reviews were both seemingly accident prone, had family members who were accident prone, or would sometimes totally MIA until well into our scheduled time. I was still trying to find my way in the hobby, so didn’t move on as soon as I should’ve even though I knew they were full of shite.

Recently, I’ve only had issues with one who is habitually late but keeps me posted as she’s running late. I’ve made it work by scheduling a half hour before I plan to be at her place. Other than that, I have had someone fall asleep (pass out) and miss two of our appointments, but I knew it was true because she was turning into a serious drunk. I only see Ms. Tardy Mcgee out of these few now, but only because sex with her is outstanding and she’s got great cans.

Because some of us have heard these kind of excuses way too many times..  If you haven't you will, and if you aren't willing to admit to yourself that these are lame ass excuses, I don't know.. I got a bridge to sell you...

Also let me tell you something.. Some of these make up sessions have never been all that great for me..

Which implies other make up sessions have been great, or at least good, for you. All I am suggesting is an alternate route for someone the OP claims has been a good date in the past.

I haven’t had any ncns in a very long time, but if I did I would give her the benefit of a doubt because of the high prices these providers charge today, I would think it’s must be true, unless she has a better p4p which I guess could happen, if I’m only booking for 1 hr someone else might want to book for multiple hours.

....but she wasn't even classy enough to come up with a lousy excuse. She just ghosted me with no explanation. Because of her I never do outcalls anymore. Nowadays if a provider can't offer me an incall then I don't book.

This was with a hugely hyped, very expensive, and far away provider..

I am a hardcore animal lover, I would move Heaven and Earth for my fur babies.

 But business is business.

It was a huge letdown, having to book 6 weeks in advance, stump up the equivalent of a month's housing, drive an hour and a half, only to be told that it's no go.

Actually took a hiatus from seeing stateside talent for several years after that.

Much like because of the '70s Detroit lemons my parents suffered, I 've preferred imports ever since.

a NCNS is ghosting the individual on the day of the date and beyond. No communication whatsoever.

This doesn't appear to be the case in this instance since you did hear from the provider 40 minutes after the appointment start time.

I'd say you had a very late cancellation. While last minute (late) cancellations suck, as long as you're not out any deposits or expenses, then it's just a waste of your time which I do understand because I've been there myself.

If the provider had never been late on past dates and this current situation is atypical, then I'd give them another chance.

FWIW: if you agreed to pay for the room, then I wouldn't think not having additional clients would be a cause for cancelling since the provider wouldn't be out the room expense, just potential revenue from other clients. And if the provider's cancellation excuse was valid and they always intended to honor the date, then they probably had to pay for the room they had booked due to the late cancellation with the hotel.

Let me put it another way. None of the make up sessions have been anything more than mediocre.

of anything they had planned on. That's a given.

Okay, post a venting post about how you don't like. Maybe it helps you or doesn't mentally. But at the end of the day the why cancelled is largely irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.  Shit happens. You've seen her before and seem to have liked the sessions. So if you want to see her more just let it go. She did or did not want to tell you what actually happened, is that a big deal?

If how this all played out for you (and you're not telling us everything as you say) makes you not want to see her again, don't. Posting her seems pointless for just moving on but. . . . However, if the event makes you think she will cause similar problems for others and you're warning them you really need to post the name.

Since you're not naming names or really explaining anything I'll take it the post is purely venting frustration. Hope you feel better about things now.

One was the classic "I had my ringer off so didn't know you were trying to call me."   Another variant of the cell phone excuse is that their battery died.

The most far fetched and made me really shake my head was from a west coast gal who said the time zone difference got her all screwed up so didn't know what time it was.

As for the car accident excuse, that got used only once, but I'm sure it was legit.   The gal had terrible bruises on her legs the next time I saw her, and had a different car.   She never called me for days because she was in the hospital, and her cell phone got wrecked in the crash, and had to find my phone number on her email once she got home.

My "cell phone" excuse story. It was my first NCNS, early in my experience. All was confirmed the day before and earlier on the day of the meeting. I'm stuck in traffic but make one more voice-to-voice contact about 15 minutes before arrival to say that I will still be on time. I park in the nearby mall garage and call again at ~T minus 5 minutes. No answer; no reply.
.
The hotel was right next to the mall with several cell phone company stores. The excuse I got a few days later was that she got a NEW cell phone and NEW cell phone number (not switched her service from the old carrier to the new carrier, possibly resulting in a delay or gap in service or other screw up) and that she forgot to give me her NEW number (even though her OLD number, working 15 minutes earlier, was STILL working).
.
Oh ... I've told about this one -- and some other lame excuses -- before:

I was set to meet a local lady who has very good reviews and a rate structure that strongly encourages longer appointments, so I booked two hours which I never do, but it was a bargain so I did it.

I confirmed with her the day before and we were set. I refrained from re-confirming the morning of because I didn't want to be annoying (appointment was at noon).

I get to the location a bit early and texted her that I had arrived and was parked - I added that I was expecting to wait until the appointment time, so no rush, no problem.

Noon comes and goes - no word. I texted her at 12:07 and said "now you're late, lol" - still nothing. I waited around wondering WTF was happening. About 12:25 I drove away and she finally texted me at 12:30 and apologized and said that she had written down 12:30 as the appointment time in her calendar for some reason and am I still there? I said I had left but wasn't far. She asked if I would come back and I said that I could but that I could only do an hour now because of all the time wasted (and I did not have an unlimited amount of time to be off the radar). She replied with a lackluster answer so I said never mind, I'll see you next time. In the mean time I was able to get a hold of one of my favorites and she was free so I went to see her.

What got me was a few things:

I confirmed the day before and she acknowledged the time, etc.

Most women I know would be prepping (shower, shave, etc) immediately before and would at least know they were texted even if there is no time for a "conversation"

She wasn't at all enthusiastic about me having to cut the appointment down to an hour

She didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience. I had told her I had limited opportunities to get out of the house and that she wasted one of them. I wouldn't expect anything major, but SOMETHING. Maybe an extra 30 minutes next time, but nothing.

I went back and forth about whether I would try to see her again but eventually decided against it. Everyone makes mistakes but for some reason I just had a really bad taste in my mouth about this.

Look sh*t happens and you can never really know if someone is telling you the truth or not. I have a POS car and there's always something brok or tires getting flat etc ...need to get a new one but because life sucks I now have to take care of my mother and her bills. I'm not complaining I just dont have the extra $$$ to buy a new car ... That being said ... We now have Uber/Lyft if our vehicles wont work but 1 or 2 I have been on the side of the road and not able to leave my vehicle.

As far as not believing when someone is cancelling ... If I ever have to and its usually due to my vehicle or personal life I have no problem sharing a pic of what my issue is ... before not believing her or just blocking sum1...just ask for a pic ... we live in a world where EVERYONE has a camera on their phone and if they come back w their camera is broken... then they are 90% full of sh*t... lol ... But like I said dont be so quick 2 judge

The worst excuse I was given when I was about 5 minutes away from the appointed and she (a top-rated, highly reviewed lady that I saw before), called and told me she had to cancel because her roommate was sick and she had to take care of her. She kept the deposit and said we can apply it later, but as a traveling girl, it was a year before she was back in town and she claimed ignorance of the NCNS.

Tbh I don't se what's so funny. In a perfect world, buyer would also have the power of a cancelation fee if the seller can apply one.

The idea of buyers' time somehow being worth even a penny less than the seller's, is quite asinine.

If a seller is compelled to charge a cancellation fee, then he or she should be prepared to be charged the same going the other way. It's only fair.

We also live in a world where photoshop and false information runs rampant. That pic of an alleged broken down car the provider sent me might be just some random ass hooptie.

I do agree shit happens. But many times it's skewed in such a way where shit happening on clients side is met with a cancellation fee, and shit happening on the provider side is met with... nothing.

Well if I was with an officer I would not want to text a client I was going to see either. " Hey I won't be to come have sex with you for money" ! Not that that is what she would say but she was probably protecting her work phone from the cops because it has incriminating evidence on it. Who knows how she does dressed as well. Some ladies are a dead give away that they are escorts. Maybe give some time and ask if all is ok and feel her out. Usually the truth comes out. So if she was another client longer or whatever she will eventually let it slip. Sorry that happened to you though. I get people in accidents, blown tires, kids came home, pulled over for speeding etc all the time.

Had a regular of mine completely NCNS me after giving me the address. To this day I have no idea why. I had seen her 3 times prior and she texted me the address just an hour before. I felt like an a-hole sitting in the parking lot and sending text and text only to received no reply. That's the only complete ghosting I've received.

I have arrived to the incall and received some last minute cancellation excuses:
1) I just started my period, so I can't see you.
2) I had a bad encounter with a previous client that has me shook up.
3) I ate something that made me sick.
4) I'm running late from a previous outcall appt and won't make it back in time.

Probable explanation... she's female.   Every female I've ever met processes everything you say through some "offense filter."  It doesn't matter what you meant, it just has to have some words that can be construed to offend her in some way.  Then they seek revenge.

I have had two classic ncns excuses, both when I was traveling.

Years ago, a really hot Phoenix escort canceled on me "because my grandmother died in San Diego and I had to go to the funeral".   I bought it, as the note canceling our date came the day before.  So about two months later, I was back in Phoenix and made a date with her -- like I said, she was really hot.  She was ncns and I didn't hear from her until the next day -- big apology because "I'm in Dallas -- my grandmother died and I'm with my family at the funeral."  Poor girl -- she lost both grandmothers in the same two month period.

Second classic -- I was in LA, and had a date with a well-reviewed, long-time provider who was highly rated for looks and performance, but had a couple of notes in her reviews about problems with TCB.  My setup with her went Ok and I was looking forward to the date,  I show up in her parking lot and get a text -- "I have a fruit-fly infestation in my apartment -- you really don't want to come up here..."  And then crickets....
