So, I have this friend whose thinking about hiring a gigolo . . .  

Actually, I was on a website looking at posts and was surprised to see an ad for a male gigolo.  Honestly, in this day and age I did not realize they existed.  My friends who use Internet dating sites tell me they have no problems picking from a large pool of seemingly sane, sexy hunks for one-nighters, for free, who are happy to never contact them again once the deed is done.  It's hit or miss performance-wise.  Not all of my girlfriends are great looking, but average in looks, height, weight. In any case, the market is surely in the ladies' favor.

Why do you think there is a need for gigolos?  Do you know anyone whose hired one?  Do you know a gigolo?  Thoughts?

Now I am really curious . . .

After my mother died, my father, then 84, took a job on a cruise ship in which his function was to dance with the single, elderly ladies on the cruise.   I told him that he was a gigolo, and I guess to them, he was!!!  LOL

Typically and historically, gigolos, sometimes called "walkers" were paid companions to aging, if not elderly, women of means.  There's not much dispute that after a certain age, the number of single women far exceeds the number of single men.  So if you're a merry widow, and have the money, why not have a grand old time with Giorgio, Lance or Thor, who's probably all of 28?

except that pesky mr. spock.  but even my dad - before he died, in his 70's was approached by the elderly ladies....   to "do stuff" !  lol.  He never was unfaithful to my mom, but it was amusing to him that the pool of presentable men sort of gets shallower as you get older....  hee hee....!!!  hey - whatever floats your boat!

I've heard that some male pornstars do a pretty decent side business with female clients who are looking to fulfill the fantasy of being with them.  They're usually well-established and/or very good looking and fit.

Of course it's nothing compared to the female pornstar biz, but there's definitely a niche for the guys too.

but it's more than just his looks. I actually like the fact that he has a big nose and his eyes are closed set. I think pretty boys like Brad Pitt are too pretty. They don't do anything for me. But I like Richard Gere's voice, his actions and he's also a great dancer. Actually, he started out on stage dancing and singing. Just a little trivia. Wink!

Yes, Brad Pitt only has the looks, but he has almost always given a very good acting performance.  He's now older.  When he was first on the scene, women were wild for him, especially young women.  I think they carry that attraction throughout their lives.  I do wonder if he will age well, though.  

Umm... my age!  lol.  Actually women a bit younger than me were wild for him.

I am aware of the fact that most of us guys pay more for a tryster per hour than any other professional.  Moreover, most women could get sex any time they want.  

I guess it is not a matter of sex as a commodity, though.  They perhaps want sex with the right kind of guy.  That's something most women can't get.  

Still, I wonder what prices run on that side of it.

I research everything.  Heck, I even researched my new coffee machine for two days before purchasing it!  So, when I came across this ad, I had to look around.

Seems like it's about the same as the ladies though the highest high-end guys are less than the highest high-end ladies.  It seemed to me that many of them saw men as well as women and I'm not sure that made a difference in pricing.  Many of the gigolos were available for porn, acting, body doubles and the like.

I've been asked, even had an SO suggest it. I think the service lifetime for the guys is longer too.
