What do women really want? (just an opinion. Not science)

To be listened to? Cared for? Worshiped? To be safe? Bring you assets then leave you alone? Secure in her future? Her own security?

Over and over I hear that women want security. I am not so sure.

We men have VERY fragile egos. Even the most athletic, handsome and virile amongst us has been REJECTED by the most mousy of females in the past. It left a mark.

Tell this guy what it is that will set ALL MEN upon the path of enlightenment! We are school boys and you are the bus drivers. Take us to school!

Of course, you risk exposing the secret of womanliness.

Someone who knows when to listen and someone who knows when to jump into action. As a woman I will test you.. I need to respect you. I need to know that I am always safe in your care. not just physically but, emotionally and financially. wine, me dine me. and yes 69 me. Be creative.

I need to see the tender loving side of you as well as the macho side of you..

Being handy around the house is important too.
You must have a sense of humor and adventuresome as well.

You must be healthy in mind and body and spirit or at least not any crazier then me.. Someone has to be the voice of reason...!

Too much to read.  Write on what they don't want.  Will fit into most comic books.
Basically, if you got it, they want it.  Once they have it, they will always return the "penis" to you! LOL  That is yours to keep, but not to use on her or anyone else, and especially not her.
Good luck with your book, and make sure you find a lady BEFORE you make the ba-jillion dollars, although ladies who go after ba-jillionaries are always sincere, loving, partners.  You know, like Anna Nichole Smith and her 1000 year old hubby!

Well, a big thing that was missing in my past long-term relationship was motivation/goal setting. I'm motivated to get through school, start a career, and live a comfortable life. He was fine stuck in a stupid job he didn't like.

What else do I want? A man who is okay switching roles. I brought up the idea of being a stay at home dad when we start a family. There is no way our salaries match now and I know they won't when we're married. I'd rather have one of us raise our kids instead of bring them to his grandparents like his sister (that opened a whole new can of worms).

Anyways, to summarize my rant, women want a motivated man who can put his ego aside and just live life practically.

You mean all we had to do was ask. Damn, I've wasted alot of time.

From bottom to top:

Food, water, shelter, clothing.
Physical and psychological safety.
Friendship, acceptance, a feeling of belonging.
Recognition, appreciation, self-confidence, STATUS.

THEN, they want the BEST POSSIBLE MAN.

How each woman defines it is different. It depends on her personal values and social context.  But each woman wants and deserves the best possible man. Just ask her. She will use words like "deserve" and "worth."

WHO that best possible man is ... will change over time unless she specifically disciplines herself otherwise.

You can rest assured that her exes are NOT the best possible men. That's why they are exes.

your response sums it up well, and is almost 100% accurate imo...almost.

for me personally, self-confidence is very low on my list of "wants" and non-existent on my list of needs. but perhaps that is because i realize one can have respect for self, greatly value self, and still lack self-confidence...and moreover, this is okay.

"STATUS" confuses me...if you like you can clarify what you mean by this. after all, one can have a very low (in the eyes of mainstream society) status, or a very high (in the eyes of mainstream society). our status is our relation, our "place," to others. if you mean that women want to hold some place in relation to others...any place...then i would agree but say all non-misanthropic humans have this need/want. if you are referring to a socially-deemed "high" status only, then i would strongly disagree with this.

the only status which is of relevance to me in my life is my status in relation those i care for. slave (to Husband), friend, servant (to others).
