Ok, as I was sitting in the parking lot of the red roof waiting for that second call, It was then I had a change of heart. It had been months since I last hobbied and I wanted to see if it was still as amazing as I remembered, when it hit me.

It was actually never really amazing. I was tired of sitting in motel parking lots, hoping that people wern't calling the cops on the creepy guy sitting in his car, or waiting in the lobby knowing that the employees were all looking at me.

Tonight as I started my car to leave the hotel parking lot at 10:30 when I hadnt heard from my 10:00 date, I had the revelation it hasnt been worth it.

I have been hoping that this hobby would meet my fantasies or expectations and in the four or so years it has been an expensive dissapointment. Don't get me wrong, there have been a few really fun moments and a few really good stories that will never get told, but in the end...

Thank you 10:00 date for helping me realize all of this.

Great for you. There's only 4 of 10 that are really knock your socks off dates. If this were baseball, you'd be a hall of famer. Sadly, its not. The hobby is being overrun with a new generation of whores and most of them don't really put any skin in the game to match their hourly rates. Your ATFs are aging, but remain spirited and forever nice to look at, but I am sure you crave the fantasy of new beginnings, who doesn't? Take care fellow traveller. Nothing wrong with walking away. Being a reluctant tourist is too expensive for these roads.

I know where you're comming from.  Your (unprofessional)  provider cheapened what should be a beautiful and god given act between 2 consenting adults.  Don't let her ruin it for you and all the honorable providers.  Hobby on, just with the right girl friends!

I have to ask this question. Why do you apparently hate women? In just the last few days, you've posted several comments insulting women and suggesting they retire because of too much cock and cum. Here in this thread, you've called every woman who entertains men whores, and suggested that this newest generation of providers are all worthless.

After reading your postings, I do have to agree that someone on this board is clearly burned out, too cynical, and in need of retiring from this hobby. But it certainly isn't Laney, nor any other woman who has shared their insight and experience on this board.

I would suggest to you that perhaps it is time for you to focus on dating for a while, except I'm not certain that is a good idea either. Also according to you, 'civvies' are vapid brainless fucks. (again, your words).

So I am left wondering. Why do you hate women?

It seems to me some people take things said on the TER board waaaaaaaaaaay to personally. For me this is a fun place to be an anonymous and sometimes crazy poster! Like a majority of people who use the anonymity of the internet, not everything said is true and NOT everything posted is something a person would say to another or do!

Do your research. Read reviews. For me, it's more like 9 out of 10. Thanks to this site, I am rarely disappointed.

My "revelation" is coming in a very different form.  I think that my outcome may be a bit different, but I have to admit, here recently, your post has a lot of relevance to me.  

You don't state if you are single or married, but I suspect that your feelings have little or nothing to do with that.  It is more the transitory nature of the encounter.  Or, at least that is the issue for me.  

Don't get me wrong, I have wonderful memories, but they are short, and most (NOT ALL) are without depth.  Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it is what it is.  As either Dear Abby or Anne Landers once said - Sex is like the meteor that blazes across the sky - brilliant and beautiful, but brief.  Love is like the evening sunset, glorious in color, less brilliant, but much longer lasting.

In my opinion, life is very dynamic.  What thrills us at one point, we may tire of the next.  You may find in the future that you wish to return to the hobby but, for right now, it seems like you need a break.  Remember, many times decisions we make now are effected by our present situation.  As life changes, so do our wants and needs.  Good luck in the future!!

I hate to say it, but sounds like he's in the hobby because he's working through his issues with women.

If you go hobbying expecting to have some young woman make a change in your life you miss the point completely. There is however great beauty to be found in every encounter with a woman. The mystery is how to make that connection with the person you have met. For me there is great pleasure in spending an hour or two with a woman that is willing to share her God given body with me.

You might want to re-examine your criteria for companionship.

The incidents are centered around someone who knows they are going to meet you. Someone who knows you by your actual identity and TER handle. Then you have every right to be concerned, and this might just be the case with the original poster in this thread. Some of us are very forthcoming about who we are when we make our dates. I agree with you totally if anonymity was protected...don't sweat that sort of thing.

I'm with you on this one.  I had a great time last night with a fun lady.  It was a couple hours of bliss, followed by memories of another encounter with another (with depth) wonderful friend from a few days earlier.

With only a couple exceptions, they've ALL been fun, but only a couple etch into my psyche.  Go ahead Ciara...send me that IM; I'm waiting, hahaha

I can definitely relate to your feeling's about waiting in the car,lol. As for the hotel's, more than likely the employee's know what's going on anyway, but hanging out in the lobby seemed too obvious to me, especially when you leave almost exactly an hour or two later. Something even more fun was when the cleaning crew or an employee was right outside or by the room you're going to. Worse was when they were still there when you came out. I always liked to breeze through the lobby acting like I was a guest, hoping like hell the elevator was in clear sight so I wouldn't look lost. At first it was unbelievable, pick and choose the woman of your desire and she's yours, other than a B&S or stand up, then reality hit. Most of the women I met were absolutely beautiful, dynamite, just enjoyable to be with but it was sure one hell of a way to meet them. If I had an endless supply of money, like some of the guy's evidently do, I might still be playing, then again I don't know, it did kind of get old for me too.

Totally agree, actually the main reason I did quit.

While I agree with what you say in your post I wonder if a lot of your feedback on the board  has been formed from your own jaded experiences.Sounds like you might need a break the industry!

Please consider your own frame of mind and possible therapy sessions before trying to assess the needs of others...i.e. coming clean.

Perhaps. I assure you I have no issues with women and the ladies I frequent are very nice to me and I them. Some might call my brand of opinion cynicism, others love to flame because this is the nature of the board. I suspect my p.o.v. is unwelcomed because if there is anything I am jaded about is the fact the hobby has lots of screwed up people on both sides of the door and if I ever mistreated a lady for any reason, then I would not return. Don't take anything I say too seriously, I don't and if I have hurt your feelings, I am sorry.

I hate women. Just the opposite. I am a bit more frank when it comes to topics on this board and I don't write comments to please anyone and I don't kiss providers asses as many do, so translation,  I hate women. Nah. I date women like you for an hour or two, just for what you sell. I am no more enamored with who you or what you do when you are not practicing your craft. I try as most of you prefer to keep it business-like. Because I think many people are rip-offs are only because I read the reviews and they are about 60/40, with 40 being the bad seeds. If my opinion offends you, fine, that is life. Nor did I tell her to retire, I posited that she see someone she trusts to talk it over. She did seem a bit fragile in her coming clean post. Then again, I cannot read between the lines always. To attack someone that you do not know because of an opinion is to be small-minded and I don't think you are that, but you sound that way. So if my logic seems venomous, I suggest you re-think your own heart.
