I know that I tend to place an emphasis not on the reviews so much as an accurate profile. In reviews, I look for clues to her personality and likes/dislikes. I usually only look at a few recent reviews, or a significant outlier.

What do you look for? What informs you?

I tend to see reviews as something of a sampling so I tend to look more at the pattern of the reviews -- average scoring, range, sometimes a pattern in the "time series".  If the provider has a history or reviews I don't look through it all. Depending on the number it might be the most recent few months or maybe a year. Much older that that it seems too long.

I also use them to gauge the profile as well.

I also tend to look for reviews by reviews who reviewed someone I have also seen to see if our assessments line up. If none exists I try to at least see how the review ranking versus the other reviews that person created.

I do also look at the outliers in a set of reviews to see if they make sense at all.

Since menu's don't vary that much in the type of girls I see, I agree with  you and Lester that intangibles such as attitude and personality are more important to know.  The problem is that, most reviewers only focus on the mechanics of the sex . . . .  We did this, she did that, etc.

I typically spend at least an hour on each review, and I try to show the readers what its like to be WITH her.  I include some of the banter, so you get an idea about her personality and attitude, and how she reacted to things I said and did.  To me the interplay is more important in learning what she might be like to spend time with than what positions we did, how her BJ was, or how much she moans during sex, which is the standard narrative in 75% of reviews.

It's clues about her personality. That's why Twitter filled the void so well while TER was down. I  know YMMV, so I'm more concerned about how the ladies view their clients in general. The ones who call us "suitors" tend to be a good fit for me, as opposed to those who refer to us as "slobbyists."

on the "suitor" versus "slobbyist" point. I don't take it personally, but I do place a big "no, never" next to her name.

Courtesy needs to flow both ways.

Regarding reviews, I like to see if there is a trend or pattern, I also look at the reviewer's history to get an idea of how they grade.

Photos, the gal's site, her participation on the boards are all a part of the mix, as are recommendations from people I know.

IMO a review from seasoned reviewers who've seen several of the same ladies as me is valuable information.

I read the reviews to see if their maybe chemistry, read the profiles, and see if the gent has whitelists.

I agree with all that. I read enough reviews to see if the info on the activities list is accurate. For example, if the activities say cim, are there reviews that actually say this.

I look for hints of kink.

I look for outliers, especially in scores.

How does he (or she)e write about the lady he's spent time with. IMO a reviewer can cover the bases of the of the juicy details and still be respectful of her as a person. I can gauge  person's personality by the content of their reviews. If I don't like what I read, I'll pass.

I mostly ignore 10/10 reviewers and 10/10 providers.

I apply my own checklist to the total body of the reviews, or at least a segment of them if there is a large number;
- Are there sufficient reviews?  5-10 minimum
- Has my short list of trusted reviewers provided a review?
- Have the reviewers seen other girls I visited?
- Do their reviews align with my experience?
- Does the girl provide the basics I desire, dfk, daty, bbbj hopefully some dtbbbj, sexy shower not just wash, some inspirational performance, positions, some English?
- Fun personality traits?
- Overall scoring average high 8’s to low 9’s
- Trusted reviews in same range.

Toss it in the blender and if most of these criteria are met, I am rarely disappointed with a new session booked after studying reviews!

I have slipped a time or two in the quality of my reviewing.   When I score performance high, per TER I must laundry list the activities that drove the number.  I understand why, but it does push any level of intimacy out the window.

In all things, attitude counts more to me than action.  I had a recent experience with a beauty.  She did everything one could want, but here mind was not in the game. I have seen her before, so will chalk it up to a bad day.  Importantly, she did everything to earn a 10 rating, but mental engagement lacking diminished the experience.

It's important for many of to get real details about the lady. If you say 'great body' it doesn't really tell me anything because everyone has different tastes. Would like to know if she's as advertised, tall or short, older or younger, has a skinny waist or thick thighs.. real details on her look and attitude. A comparison to a known public figure can also be useful.

1.Is it really the lady in the pictures?  On that topic, I don't understand how there are so many reviews posted with links to a lady's site that is password protected.  How is that supposed to work?  Seems to happen mostly in K-girl reviews here in the City of Angels.
2.Does she really do what the list of activities says?  The one I find most fault with here is that so many guys answer "really bi" in a review although they've never seen the provider with another woman.  Tip:  If you haven't seen her eat pussy, just answer this question "Don't know".  And vague reviews ("everything was a blur") are almost as unhelpful.  Did she actually give you a BBBJ or didn't she?  If you can't remember that simple fact, time to take a spell from playing.
3.Chemistry is impossible to predict.  So just knowing how the provider comported herself during the session is helpful.  If reviewers found the provider friendly, upbeat and PRESENT during the session, or found that the provider is running an assembly line of guys in and out of her room with all the attention of a bagger chucking your eggs into the bottom of the bag at the supermarket, that's helpful.

I look to see what the patterns are in the reviews. The perfect example is I avoid providers that always make clients wait for 5-10min in every other review. I love big boobs and love reading many reviews saying stuff like she had amazing tits which makes me book an appointment.

I agree with many above that getting an idea of the provider’s attitude as well as specifics of her looks and services from the written review is the most important. As to the list of services, it is important when reading and submitting reviews to remember that TER DOES NOT UPDATE THE ORIGINAL LIST OF SERVICES WITHOUT A PROBLEM REPORT! Don’t blame the last guy for “Really Bi” when that response is probably from her first review. When I know something on the list is wrong, I always submit a problem report after submitting the review.

I've always read a person's reviews before saying "yes" to a meeting.  Reread your review of me and remember that night like it was yesterday. That suite, lol...and being with you=a most divine time with you as always! ;-)

I certainly am the last person to be giving advice regarding proof reading or grammar. However, you might want to follow your own advice. lol

Did you mean "their instructions" or "TER's instructions"  or did you leave out the "them" in the "them there instructions"?

1) Was she on time?
2) Did she look like her pictures ( mostly)
3) Was she into the session
4) Menu: DFK, BBBJ, CIM

Older I get the more enjoy BBBJ til CIM.
Lazy I guess.

This would be a really good addition to the review guidelines and perhaps in the Newbie board TER manual -- or perhaps just a pinned post on that board about how to write reviews.

Exactly, Jensen - I always find it humorous when somebody posts "check your grammar" then has a grammatical or spelling mistake.

Although he did say check your spelling, not grammar!  LOL

1) Reviewers that have written at least 10 reviews.  My BS detector goes off when I see a lady that has a lot of great reviews from someone that has only written 1 or 2 reviews.  Usually Las Vegas ladies.
2) Reviewers who have seen a lady that I have seen.  Did he rate a lady a 10/9 that I would rate an 8/8 or vice versa?  Provides context and legitimacy to his "scale".  Too often reviewers have a small sample size and/or only see mid level ladies.  They may believe that a lady is a 10/10 and maybe she is relative to the other ladies the reviewer has seen, but not in the larger picture.
3) Consistency between menu listed in a ladies profile and activities described in reviews.  Too often I read reviews that don't align with a profile (review says avoided kissing or no CIM whereas profile says the opposite).
4) Indicators of general attitude.  Phrases such as "not a clock watcher" are somewhat helpful and so are statements about providers showing up 10 min late and/or leaving early.  Do they respect your time?  Does the lady try to connect or just want to get in and out?  "Finished me off with a HJ" is usually code for she just wanted to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible with minimal effort.  It could also mean that she treats different customers or appointments differently.  Which leads to the next consideration.
5) Time period the encounter.  I find it very helpful when I see reviews that state the length of the encounter.  It provides needed context and helps better understand the whole picture and validate (or invalidate) assumptions that I may have made after looking at other information such as rate structure.  It provides great insight into her attitude.  A line such as "she made me come 3X which is more than any other lady has" is helpful, but knowing the time period (was this an hour, two hour, overnight) is way more helpful.
6) The lowest review and/or the most recent reviews.  Usually these are the most accurate.
7) What is not said or what is said that seems out of place or stressed.  "She has an amazing body" when the appearance score was an 8 from a generous reviewer would result in me initially assuming that her face wasn't that pretty until proven otherwise.  When I see guys accentuating a feature it is usually because it is a great feature, but sometimes it is just the opposite - the White Knight knows that her face ain't that great and that other guys called that out in previous reviews and/or the lady is insecure about that feature.  Trying to gain suck up points/help the lady out.

A while back I had the thought that if everyone is that  concerned about the quality of reviews, about the potential for the self/fake review (where it is more an ad review than just VIP scam review) that implementing a simple rule would perhaps help. If reviewer had to submit 10 acceptable reviews to the admins before any of their reviews would be published -- or perhaps the submitter earns the right to review -- that would go a long way to filtering and training people on what to submit.

Clearly it would remove the whole one-use account reviews that many associate with some fake review to market new girls at agencies.
