The Mann Act is the illegal transportation of women across interstate lines for immoral reasons.
It doesn't matter about consent, it's strictly against the law.

So until one law is changed, don’t expect a good argument for the other to be changed.

I'm curious who is going to snitch on a FMTY? The provider, or the client? Drive me to you = DMTY also applies, so don't leave that out of your educational post. Booking a providers time is never illegal. Asking for sexual services for x amount of $ is illegal.

Well the Mann Act is federal vs the typical state prostitution statutes. I don't know what the maximum penalty is for a Mann Act conviction but it's pretty irrelevant considering that I don't think any of us here have to worry about being prosecuted for a Mann Act violation.

The Mann act was predominantly written to prevent involuntary prostitution.  If an Indy provider flies out to spend time with you she is willing.  If she has a pimp saying go fuck this guy and pay me.  That's another story.

between "transporting" a person for sex and a FMTY.   There is a reasonable argument to be made that a woman traveling alone on an airplane, who boards in one state where she lives, and travels to another state with the intentional of selling sexual services may be violating the laws in the state where the services are to be performed, but I don't think it's a man act violation because she traveled under her own initiative and was not "transported" by any third person or organization.    If a man invites a women to travel to his state and have sex with him, what crime has she committed by getting on an airplane and traveling to meet him, where the sex may or may not still take place?  All of the prior cases involve physically escorting the women to a predetermined destination where the sex will allegedly take place.  

that in most FMTYs the money for her flight is wired to her and she purchases the ticket in her own name. So the government would have to trace the money back to the guy who sent it and prove that was its purpose. Impossible? No. But probably harder than the Feds would attempt for a single bust.

The law was passed in no small part to protect those pure and chaste white women who were being pursued by evil and predatory black men. Hence Jack Johnson's conviction in 1913. Remember the law was also called the White Slave Traffic Act. If you were a black or brown woman kidnapped, taken across 10 states and forced into prostitution in each, I don't think the FBI was racing to your rescue.

The porpoises at the zoo were being particularly frisky and displaying behaviors not suitable for family viewing. The zoo keeper knew that he could calm them down with a meal of freshly killed sea gulls. The quickest route from the food prep area to the porpoise tank was through the lion cage. It sounds dangerous to carry fresh bloody kill near the lions but they were old, tired and well fed. There could very well be case law involving the word "transport". Courts sometimes use broad interpretations of words like that and it can vary from one circuit to another.  

the relationship between the customer and the transporter constituted an agency.  In other words, if you had your chauffer drive the girl across state lines to meet you while he was on the clock being paid by you, an argument could be made that he was merely your agent and you are the principal responsible for transporting the girl.  The chauffer has deniability on the basis that he did not know the purpose for which he was delivering her to his boss.  He was just following orders.
