The post asking if you gentlemen would stay home if your wife starting becoming your provider would work is a good one and this expands on it a little.

If you haven't been getting any sex at all at home, do you think your wife knows you get it elsewhere?

I would think women have intelligence and know that men need/want sex. If she is unwilling or not wanting to give any, do you think she knows about your hobbying and is ok with it as long as it isn't talked about?

My wife came home from the doctor over 5 years ago, and announced that the doctor said that I needed to get a girlfriend. I, of course replied, "grieoffdkdjbvmcntherkemf" or something like that. We talked and I jokingly said that if I needed any, I would see an escort. She said, "Just don't tell me about it". Over 3 years later, that's what I did, and here I am now. My wife is not stupid. I'm reasonably sure that she knows, but has never even hinted at it.

It sounds like you're referring to a medical issue that makes her not capable of providing you what you need.  I'd guess that a majority of cases involves a less medical, and more social issue.  That being, she thinks he's an asshole; she has self image issues; she works her ass off and is tired, etc.  In those cases, I would guess that a lot of wives either never think about whether he's getting it elsewhere, or refuse to believe it.

She had to be confronted with proof positive before she'd believe it.

why would you want her to know so bad you wanted to prove it to her?  Did you want to give her more in the divorce or more ammo for the actual divorce?

If it is a social answer, you don't need to tell me as it is none of my business, I am just a little curious and confused at the statement.

I didn't want to prove it to her, but I was so careless in my hobbying, that she eventually got the proof positive she needed, (She came to my hotel room where my date was.) and then could not deny it to herself anymore.

(She saw my bright red Buick parked right out in front of the hotel on Main Street in our home town, went in and identified herself as my wife to the clerk who then told her the room number.)
