TER General Board

Excellent point.

The first time a rent a cop tries to shake me down in a hotel where I have spent MY money is the last time I will ever stay at such an establishment.

and just what the fuck is wrong with greeting a lady friend with a kiss? in public or anywhere else for that matter.

I do realize that telling hotel security is not an option for a provider, but as a paying guest I don't have mind in the least telling an overly agressive rent a cop to go fuck himself.

A more practical suggestion I might make for the OP is to ask the regional board in the city he is traveling in for advice as to which hotels are hobby friendly and unfriendly. I got a lot of free advice from the good folks in Chicago a couple of weeks ago about hotels, Wrigley field, and the local talent. That is what TER is all about, it's a great resource, don't be afraid to use it.

I've stayed at all sorts of hotels including a few gated resorts with guard shacks at the entrance.  As long as the lady knows my full name when she arrives at the guard shack or in the lobby and tells him who she is there to see it's not a problem.  Of course, for guys who are managing to hobby without giving out there real info this may be a problem.

In other situations I meet her outside of the hotel or at the bar.  I do out calls when I travel and I find that most of the local ladies that I book with know how to circumvent security.

Lastly, in call or out call it's always important to simply act like you both belong there.  It's not illegal to have a woman visit you in your hotel room.

Just because you know that you are seeing a prostitute doesn't mean that anybody else does. It's not illegal to "hook up" at a hotel.

As long as you look and act as if you belong and are doing nothing wrong, very few hotel employees are going to take the chance of offending a paying customer by giving you the third degree.

con men, private dicks, spies, criminals, and anyone who wants to go unnoticed.

Be relaxed, confident, casual, and just go about your business. You'll blend into the scenery to anyone who sees you.

It's actually kind of fun to set up scenarios for yourself and simply go into places you don't belong and would be asked to leave if you were asked what you are doing there.

It's just like you see in the fuckin' movies!

You gotta be smart about it, though. Observant, too. If you are, it's amazing what you can get away with. You do that a dozen times or so and and I guarantee you will never be paranoid of something a simple as bringing an escort to your room.

I have hobbied in many places. One of the most difficult tasks that I have when booking travel is eliminating hobby unfriendly hotels. What I mean by hobby unfriendly are ones where security takes an agressive and unwarranted approach to letting guest access elevators. I understand why hotels take this route in some cities. How do experienced travellers get around this issue? Would having a directory of hobby unfriendly hotels help?

......when I tour, I prefer to stay in hotels that have agressive security.  This is for my safety.  Perhaps, you should do what my gentlemen friends do, is to meet your date in the lounge, or lobby, and greet them with a handshake; not a kiss.  I always dress professionaly and carry a briefcase, so I fit right in.   Just my .02.

Meet the lady at the bar or in a certain area of the hotel and go up together. If there is a security at the elevators you should not have a problem.
Good luck!

Since this is an open board, I won't be posting the specifics here.  If you want to know where not to go in NYC in my limited experiences, best you send me a PM...
