if there is anyone else present in the same hallway, don't stop at her door.  Walk past her apartment and around a corner out of sight.  Come back when to her apartment when the person you passed in the hallway is gone.

Been away lately, mostly making money to support the hobby.

But I have not taken the plunge yet. After taking the advice on these boards, I did my research and found a great provider that doesn't have super-intrusive screening, doesn't ask for deposits, and is heavily reviewed on here. I even DM'd one of the guys that saw her recently and he sung her praises and says he's a regular. This guy is also a "monger" so has multiple reviews and white lists. I got giddy that everything was falling into place.

My excitement faded when his message said that she hosts from an incall apartment. That prompted me to post here to ask - is an apartment better or worse than a hotel? In a hotel, at least I am anonymous if it is busy enough and she can alway meet me in the lobby and we can pretend we are old friends. I'm also told most hotels only have cameras in the lobby for legal and privacy reasons (could be wrong about that).

In an apartment, there are nosy neighbors and she may have cameras in her place for her "protection" but can be used against you later on. The guy I messaged said there is a doorman outside as well. I don't know how doormen work as I never lived in a high-end apartment, but that would seem like another hurdle to overcome.

Understand that I am a single guy so worrying about a partner finding out is not a concern. I"m also not rich and important enough to blackmail. But I want to avoid LE issues and I also don't want to get robbed by a seven foot Russian meathead named Igor when I step through the front door....the chances of the latter is reduced in a hotel.

But a small increase, over a small number to begin with, is still a very small risk...IF...IF...IF...you do your research and the girl has a very good/pristine reputation.
.
It sounds like you are referring to NYC as I play there often. There are several women I see who host in NYC who fit the description of the incall situation you state, and I don't sweat it at all because, again, they have pristine track records.
.
Do your homework, think with the big head, and when in doubt, trust your instincts. If you do your homework the chances of you getting scammed, robbed (or worse ) are WAY less than 1%, imo.

You are correct. It is in the Big Apple.

Thanks for your response and not being a knobhead.

.......Is in an apartment. You'll be just fine. Hell, when i visit my spontaneous gal, (at her apartment) I walk up those steps and back out the door doing the George Jefferson strut like I own the damn place!! 🤣🤣

is safer than a hotel.  It's the Newbie's who do stupid shit that mess it up for the more experienced mongers.  The only caveat I have with an apartment complex is that it has to be big, if not huge.  In a huge complex, residents do not usually know each other, nor do they socialize, except for the losers that depend on the management company's monthly mixers to meet other residents.

The idea is to blend in.  If you're 60-ish like me, you are not going to be able to just stroll though the hallways without being noticed, so you dress like an insurance salesman, and that explains to the other residents why you are there.  If you're younger, wear jeans and a tool belt so you look like a maintenance guy.  You will be completely ignored and no one will remember any details about you.  The biggest danger in an apartment complex are the wives who are home all day and have nothing better to do than to look out the window as people pass by.

How do the Newbies fuck things up.  The walk through the complex with a bouquet of flowers or a box of chocolates tucked under their arm.  The stay-at-home wives are naturally curious who this gentleman caller might be AND where he is going, so these guys ATTRACT attention and lead a curious housewife to the door of the provider.  So the housewife knows that the young lady living there has a "friend."  Then the next day, two more Newbies show up at the complex with flowers or candy and lead the same nosey housewife to the SAME apartment.  If the hasn't figured it out by now, a few more days and she will.

That is why I would not recommend going to an apartment incall unless you are very experienced and always practice situational awareness.  When I'm in a complex, I will figure out where the apartment I'm going to is and then take a circuitous route to get there. One thing I have learned through the years is that most wives living in apartments fail to appreciate the convenience of having an incall in the same building the way their husbands do.

I'm an accountant by trade so I'll bring my work bag and be dressed in my usual work attire. Thanks for the advice.

Too bad that Pete Hegseth and Mike Waltz didn't hire you for OPSEC advice.  They could has used your terrific OPSEC skills.

YOU mocking the precautions others use when you have NO reviews of your own.  We call this lurking, not hobbying.

...and walk thru the hallway like you just got back from the dollar store.  Take it with you, leave it...$5 prop.  Memorize the directions going in so you're not checking your phone to see with room numbers to follow as you come to every turn.

The phone-checking has always been a problem in places like West LA.  There are about half a dozen incalls in the same complex, and it's a passcode entry.  This means there can be up to six guys standing around the entrance glued to their phones waiting for the entry code.  Not surprisingly, there is about one bust a year in this section of LA.  I stay in my car until I get the pass code, then memorize it and walk up to the door, say excuse me to the other guys waiting there, put in the number and go right in.  It has aways amazed and amused me the way some cheap-ass mongers won't wait in the car because of the five minutes they lose on an hour session walking to the front door.  They put themselves and the rest of us at risk hanging around the door watching their phones for a message.

You're advocating people dress up with a tool belt to go to a hooker appointment in an apartment complex? lol

Jesus. Fucking secret squirrel bullshit.

I think that most apartment dwellers know the building maintenance guys and wearing that getup would make you stick out like the proverbial sore thumb.

"Secret squirrel" LOL

I wonder if when he comes into the place he says "I have two nuts just for you, little lady!"

I can't believe I missed the "tool belt" comment. Clever!!! lol  My home incall is in a rural area, so no issues. I have clients that cross dress and show up in full garb and there have not been any issues.  My condo, which I seldom use for incalls, obviously has neighbors. I would say out of all of the outfits that will draw attention it would be showing up in a tool belt. I guarantee my neighbors are going to ask what work I am having done. They also LOVE to come in to see the work, asked how much I paid, where I found the guy, what other work he has done, etc. When I had an electric fire place put in every person in the whole fucking building had to come check it out. I would put this outfit pretty low on the list for "blending in." Wear normal clothes and bring a shopping bag with towels or clothes in it. A "friend" dropping something off is always easier to explain.

She's well reviewed here. Therefore,  it's unlikely there's a 7'  meathead behind the door, and it's even less likely LE is watching her. They have better things to do.

With the exception of possible hidden cameras, I have little concern about residential incalls.

.. so you went to TER and reported it...

Well good luck.. Maybe go to newbie board and people will be a little kinder.

Hope you get your hooker cherry popped.

That's funny.

Why would I respnd and then report.

Bully away. It's an online forum. Couldn't care less what your opinion on me (a random person) are.

Well.. Maybe TER removed it of their own volition  Carry on....

There are definitely certain people that post here that sure get their panties in a wad real quick.
And don't upset the old guy on the pr board. Stuff will disappear like David Copperfield is in town. Ask me how I know😆😆

You're getting a lot of bullshit and bad information. Going to an apartment/private residence incall usually doesn't carry anymore risk than going to a hotel. Sure, the hotel is a public place but there are risks to being in public and there are benefits to being in private.
.
Hotels usually don't mess with providers because they aren't stupid and know where their money comes from. However you could run into trouble with a hotel manager that kicks you out or calls the cops. In an apartment, you're not going to get a call from management if you're fucking too loudly. You don't have to worry about the fire alarm going off and hotel security showing up. Also, cops are probably more likely to run police busts in a hotel/motel vs private residence. There are fewer people at apartments so you are less likely to be recognized (if that is a concern). Not to mention, private residences are much harder for outsiders to enter or access. Landlords can't go into an apartment and cops can't go into private residences without a warrant.
.
I'll disagree with another poster and recommend you ditch the costume. The best way to blend in is to look like a normal, regular person. People of all ages live in apartments and visit people in apartments. An insurance salesmen visiting an apartment complex is NOT a regular occurrence. Also, don't dress like a construction worker. People are more likely to know and recognize staff and you might stick out if there isn't any construction activity happening in the building. If you show up with a tool belt the provider is probably going to think you're retarded too (I prefer dressing well for providers myself). I'd also leave the work brief case behind, that's called shitting where you are eating. You don't want your employer finding out you brought your work documents or company laptop to see an escort, so don't do it. Apartment hallways are typically pretty empty anyway. I've never noticed any difference between large or small buildings either. Smaller buildings usually have less staff, fewer apartments and fewer people around. This other poster also mentioned some crap about wives watching windows all day and I have no idea what reality he lives in. Most apartments don't have windows that open into the hallway and I don't think most people are sitting by their peepholes all day. Even if it is a condo type complex with outdoor entrances, everyone has their blinds drawn. I've lived in apartments and most people stick to themselves and rarely interact with each other. People don't hang out in their hallways like Kramer did in that one Seinfeld episode. There is no special experience required with going to an apartment. Just be a regular person and be cool and calm.
.
Typically, providers working out of an apartment building will have more instructions. For example, they'll have you go to a street corner and call them, then they'll have you walk to a certain point, then they'll tell you which building to enter and what buzzer number to hi, then you walk up to the third floor and a door opens as you walk past it. They don't want to put their address in text so these instructions are over the phone and they want to get a look at you outside before they let you into the building. It isn't always this complicated but they're usually being extra careful and considerate. Sometimes there will be a doorman or some sort of gate. You will have to talk to the doorman but don't worry it has never caused me an issue. The provider gives you a name and an apartment number and you go up. The doorman gets a nice tip around Christmas and is smart enough to shut the fuck up. Hotels usually don't have all that crap. You usually just call or text the provider when you arrive and they give you a room number. Sometimes you might have to meet in the lobby or deal with an elevator with a key swipe but its typically pretty easy.

NYC offers MANY options.  W/o more info from you (or her), it's hard to pick one scenario as canonical. In NYC, I've visited apartments in smaller 4 story walk-ups, 2 apartments per floor up to 6 or so apartments per floor. I've visited larger, taller, newer apartment buildings with lots of apartments (and people!). And other variations.
.
I've visited doorman buildings of several types. See my old post that I will cut and paste here:
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion-boards/ter-general-board-12/different-kinds-of-doormen-805077
"Different kinds of doormen
The Doorman Q has come up before, but usually on the newbie board.
You already say that your situation is "doorman with sign in sheet" but that won't stop me from mentioning some others, also on the east coast.  I am answering from the client perspective.
There is the doorman who sits there reading the Daily News and not looking up. Just let's the video cameras keep track of everything, just in case. [... see full post ...] "
.
ASK her if there's a doorman and what the protocol is. "Don't worry. Just nod and walk on by. Turn left at the potted plants for the elevators. Look natural." (Anybody remember The Vogue on 6th Ave?)  I was a regular with a hostess who had an apartment in a midtown doorman building. You didn't have to give your name but you had to give a REAL apartment destination because he knew the reals from the fakes: "11-12" "Oh yeah? She's on vacation." "Oh, I meant 12-11." and he knew who it was and the reason for so many visitors but he'd just say, "OK. Have a good time and a good day." The first time was scary but then it was natural. I visited a hostess at her Upper West Side skyscraper, where she both lived and worked. It was one of those marble lined lobbies and a doorman in uniform at marble sign in desk. She told me exactly what to expect and how to get to the elevators with the no trouble.
.
I've also been through the "go to the intersection of Ave # x St. # and call me." That's so she can see from the window and only then give you the actual address and buzzer number.
.
If you're not good at improv or ad libbing, prepare some stories ahead of time in case a neighbor stops you. "Me? I'm delivering her order." "Oh yeah? Where's your delivery bag?" "I don't carry a $10,000 diamond necklace in a delivery bag. It's in my pocket. Oh ... I shouldn't have mentioned that. It's really none of your business." Or maybe, "I'm serving a subpoena. Please back off and stay out of the way." These days, just keep your cell phone to your ear and carry on a fake conversation so you can ignore a nosy neighbor. "Yes ... yes ... I'm picking up the report and will be back at the office soon." or "Yes? Really! That's great! Boy or girl! ..."
.
I also used to provide helpful advice on how to dress and act to avoid problems at hotels:

Good luck! Have fun!

Almost every place has cameras. I do not think a hotel or a private incall is any better. Long ago I used to have several private incalls. Now, I get hotels where my clients/friends need hosting accommodations. I travel upon request. I love being a professional escort!

I just returned from touring & have noticed hotels are only giving two towels. I had to ask for more towels, and I keep it clean by bagging up my own towels. I always tip the housekeeper. I don’t have lots of traffic, but everyone needs a clean towel. lol 😆

😏 Keep in mind you can run into anyone anywhere, so have a good alibi ready just in case.

Made me think of my long review of Carlee Jag, ending with: "On the other hand, Carlee is the girl in the pictures and tries to be nice so if you get the cleared up Carlee that's been favorably reviewed so many times before you should be OK or even better than OK. Just ask in advance if she has clean, dry towels."

That place was an anomaly. I was surprised to see only two towels in the bathroom - most hotels seem to have at least 4.

Just returned home from a personal trip and experienced the same thing, only two towels provided.  Plus the hotel was offering every second day house keeping services.  Considering I use a separate towel for my hair, this did not even allow for fresh towels daily without a special request to have extras provided.

Just go out during the housekeeping hours and find an an unattended cart; then help yourself to whatever you need.

Just stay away from sketchy areas. If it’s a hotel, that’s fine as long as it’s a 3.4 or 5 star in of course a good area.I’m not comfortable with motels or anyplace where you have to enter from the outdoors. Same with apartments, not into outdoor entries.
Apartments with a hallway entry don’t have windows where noisy neighbors can lurk.
But it’s all about your comfort level. And nowadays, there’s cameras everywhere

I did some more research on my own on the newbie board and saw a very old post where someone said that most providers "know what they are doing" when they have incalls, particularly the higher end ones, so if they are hosting at a particular location, they know the environment is discrete and safe or they would not be seeing people there. That can mean she has greased some palms or everyone is just chill and keeps to themselves.

Either way, it was enlightening. I will not be posting again until I go through with it.

other factors also.

Just a war story concerning high-end hotels: I booked an 8-hour out-call session with a very hot woman in NYC. She met me in the lobby  of my hotel, and I began the date by taking her to lunch in the hotel restaurant. Note: The escort's attire wasn't anything that would stand out. Nor was I walking around with a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates. I had seen her twice before in another city.

We adjourned to my hotel room and started getting comfortable when all Hell broke loose. All of a sudden "Housekeeping" had to clean the room and would not go away after being told "I'm busy." I hadn't turned-on the "Do Not Disturb" light, which seemed to be a big problem. While trying to get rid of them, someone even showed up to check the mini-bar.

This all could have been a coincidence, maybe the staff recognized her or maybe they wanted to send a message. I'll never know.

The whole thing was strange because I've had many, many meet-ups in suburban business hotels for years and never had a problem. Fortunately, nothing came of it and we had a good time!

You’re taking a risk regardless it doesn’t matter if it’s a hotel, or an apartment. I commend you for doing your homework here & reaching out to a fellow TER friend. Sharing is caring. Have fun! 🤩
