According to a new MSNBC article a study states that monkeys "pay" for sex by grooming females, and that monkeys may treat sex as a commodity.  Further, the value of sex appears to be impacted by supply and demand, ie. a larger supply means less grooming required on the part of the male monkey.  

Hummm.... wonder what followup research will be generated by these findings?

I took an anthro class a while ago in my undergrad that was pretty cool. Apparently, in the bonobo population, women are dominant. Men can be attacked and castrated or killed for not revering this dominance. In this population, though, sex was very common not only at feeding time to get extra food, but it was also m-f, f-f, and m-m. It was very interesting.

Furthermore, it's very common in the chimp/bonobo/etc... populations for food and sex to go hand in hand.

. . . which doesn't mean anything to them, IMO, as monkeys also haven't evolved finger-fucking gene either, but that part has been poorly studied.
