I am off to Europe for a week and thought I would check out provider action in a few cities. Started googling and all i found, in practically every city i am going to, is girls from the former Soviet Union. Paris is drowning in them!
So what happened to local girls? Too much competition?
More importantly, are these gorgeous girls doing this voluntarily? I want nothing to do with trafficking, but if a woman chooses to provide, more power to her!

NYC & DC & Chicago, and other big cities here are full of Russians, Bulgarians, Romanians, Czechs, Ukranians, Latvians etc. Sure Europe has many. They also have many Pakistanis, Indians, and Asians. Immigrants tend to be the bulk of escorts in most countries.

A few years back I got into a conversation with a woman who worked as a programmer at a company I worked for. She was pretty shameless about how she got to America. She felt lucky that her husband wasn't an ass.
Basically, as she put it, there is a much more lax attitude about sex and relationships all over Europe. But that Russia lived with near zero hangups...unlike Americans. When I asked her why she would do the mail order thing, she indicated that Eastern European men are crass and lazy.
But all that said...who cares!?! They are hot.
People are leaving the eastern block for better economic opportunities. As BS said, they are coming to the US also.
As far as trafficking, I'm sure we all agree with you, that we do not want to assist in that, but I don't know how you can tell. I'm sure many of them are trafficked, but there are also manyvoluntarily doing it.

Some of the eastern euro countries are part of the EU, which allows for free movement between borders for work opportunities. The western euro economies ex Italy, portugal, and Spain are much richer and more stable than the eastern countries. And many men in the eastern euro countries are, for lack of a better term, wastes of space. (Check out the difference in life expectancy between Russian women and men. It's huge because Russian men are simply drinking themselves to early deaths.) Also marriage and sex is based more on economic opportunity there than on emotions like love as it is in the US. So having sex with a guy because he has money is tolerated, maybe even expected. Naturally, this makes providing a more acceptable profession.

I've traveled very much around turkey , Dubai and other places in that part of world. Russian ladies are everywhere , many are very beautiful and as someone said they are Very open sexually . Europeans don't have the hang ups that Americans have.
There are women from all over the former Soviet bloc, different agencies that specialize in each. I think there are a few things that enter into it. Certainly part of it is supply and pricing - lots of pretty young girls from the east are "happy" to travel west to make a lot of money on a short tour. Some of that is coerced - women forced to work one way or another - but I cannot say I have seen any such women that seemed as clearly imprisoned as the two ladies I saw at AMPs. Not going back there.
The other is actually just a function of the how the laws and the business intersect. Pimps and agencies are illegal in most of Europe, so a Russian agency that is spending money for a professional web presence, a "call center" and has a large roster of attractive women is going to have a competitive advantage over the local independents. Of course, the agencies also plan out itineraries, pay for hotels, probably offer some degree of local security (AKA, the guy in the next hotel room with traveling girls on rooms on either side, who probably does a lot more to keep the girls in line than the clients).
Anyway, yes, the Russians dominate the high end escort business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. And no, to the poster who suggested it was about immigrants - hardly any of the ladies are residents.

Most of them left the stage after a few weeks or months. They were looking for (and easily found) marriage opportunities. Not sure if they married strip-club clients, but that would be a way to screen for "men with a surplus of discretionary income".
