But, not news to us guys here! How long did it take you to reach the point, in your latest relationship, where you found yourself dabbling in the hobby. Mine was five years. I guess I'm just average. Get it: 7+3/2=5.
"It is common, for people who have been successful in long-term relationships, when asked what their "secret" is, to say that one thing they do is to make a conscious effort to focus more on the things they like about their partner than on the things they don't like about them, and work at remembering the good things about them."
Now, let's break that down a bit to see what the magnitude of relevancy might be to my discussion regarding the hobby.
First, what is the percent difference between long-term successful relationship, to long-term unsuccessful relationships, relationships that last only a short time. I suspect that the long-term successful relationships are greatly out-numbered by all the other mentioned relationships.
Since, most of us, I'd say at least 90% of the time know exactly what we need to do to correct a problem, and say the issue is more about motivation. If I had a dollar for every time I heard your recommendation, I'd be booking an over-nighter with some lovely lady.
Also, speaking for myself, my itchiness was not so much about attributes and behaviors of my wife, that I found disappointing or irritating, but the predominate issue was no sex. From what I have gathered, from reading the boards over the past several years, that's a common complaint.
Second, I asked a specific question, which in all your preaching, you did not answer. Common madiba51! Get down in the mud with some of the rest of us, rather than preaching from a higher place.

I'm not talking about trying to mentally "sweep under the rug" the important things that really upset you, I am talking about learning to put aside the minor irritations, and work at remembering the things that attracted you to them.
