What type of condoms do providers prefer? Lubricated, non-lubricated, lamb-skin, ribbed?

I prefer my own... I do not have to worry if they have been tampered with, if they are past expiration, or anything else... and I try to keep a significant variety on hand for the comfort of my friends.

Ribbed does nothing for me, lambskin is USELESS, lube or not is of no consequence... but absolutely NO to that horrible nonoxynol-9.  For those who do not know - I've heard the stuff will be recalled soon, having been shown to actually INCREASE the likelihood of HIV transmission (not reduce it as originally claimed), and because of the number of horrible reactions women have had.

Play safe, have fun!

is to prevent pregnancy, NOT std - which a lambskin does as well as latex or vinyl.

since the hiv virus is small enough to pass through the "pores" of a lambskin condom, in THEORY it does not inhibit hiv transmission as well as latex. however, since it DOES limit the transfer of fluid, it does reduce the risk of transmission.

the chance of transmission of a deadly disease through sexual contact alone is small. use a lambskin condom to make it smaller. use a latex condom to make it smaller still. but if you want to eliminate risk, you can't have sex with anybody. ever.

No doubt nonoxynol spread AIDS if for similar reasons even though it destroys virus-- but not enough of it compared to the damage in the vaginal walls.

Hell, nonoxynol will destroy and kill anything.  It's like bleach.

A lot like not eating to prevent food poisoning, or not breathing to prevent the many airborne illnesses, including tuberculosis, which before antibiotics, was every bit as bad as AIDS.
