Also reminds me of a true story told by my mom very non-challantly some years ago.

I had many siblings, so baby sitters were a constant part of my upbringing.  At one time, my mom used a local agency to obtain babysitters.  She noted that at times a certain sitter would get a phone call, and then announce that an emergency had come up and another sitter would be by soon to cover for her while she attended to the emergency.  This would happen, however, several times a week.  After a while my mom got wise to what was going on and put two plus two together and saw that the babysitting was an incidental cover for the real business these gals were in.

I was about two or three at the time, but recall the gals as being young and pretty, and I was very pleased to have them play with me.

Not unlike my current situation.

The article is marginally interesting, but it falls short in being anything near comprehensive.

Certainly, many sex workers are among the wide variety of workers who often perform "emotional labor" as a part of their job.

"Temporarily Yours: Intimacy, Authenticity, and the Commerce of Sex", by Bernard sociologist Elizabeth Bernard, coins the term "bounded authenticity" to describe the sometimes-used model in which the sex worker displays emotions which are genuinely felt, while at the same time staying within the boundaries of a commercial sex transaction.  My view is that this can sometimes be helpful to the sex worker, who is less likely to suffer the stress that can come from maintaining a "sex worker" persona that differs too much from her "real" self.  

A good understanding of the "bounded authenticity"concept can also help some clients of sex workers to have a more realistic view of what is happening.  

I think it should read "What Escorts, Mommies, and Shrinks Have in Common" because some

on this board, certainly need all 3.
