in 1997 when photos were first able to send via email , ladies  i mean non-pros, ie attorneys, real estate agents  etc etc  would actually ask for dick pix ..   but in a year they stopped, i guess the novelty wore off .

in comparison, i still often get and often unsolicited , pictures of bare breasts. and most frequently from non-pro and/or sugar baby ladies.      of course i hope that novelty never wears off!

I was meeting ladies in AOL Chat Rooms as early as 1993. It was interesting because sometimes I would meet ladies looking to date and go slow. Most women also aren't aroused or validated when they see a dick pick.  A female friend told me once she'd rather get a Pic of chiseled abs or biceps because a hot body is a hot body and a random dick without context looks either disgusting or awkward (her words)

Whereas, when men get unsolicited tit or pussy pic, we feel validated/excited since it's the whole "she deemed me worthy" line of thinking. and well, we also get aroused by female breasts and female genitalia..

I just find it interesting how these typically have opposite effects - I literally don't know a single guy who'd say nudes sent to him by females were disgusting or repulsive. Whereas, most dick pics are classified as such but guys don't get the memo and still think women want them for some reason.

Just a further thought that hasn’t been mentioned: adult women using the Internet for dating/casual encounters in 1997 would have been much more tech savvy and also much more sexually open than the average woman. With near universal Internet use in developed countries, that’s no longer the case.
