I dont book multiple hours because my recharge time isn't what it once was. Unless the chemistry was off the hook, I'd probably need to book 4 or 5 hours to get a double pop.  
Not fiscally reasonable....may as well book an hour with her, and then book another layer that day, or next, or whatever.

Im not against booking 90 minute sessions when its meeting a new provider, and I feel a little time needs to be set aside for getting comfortable with her, and she with me.

I prefer advance scheduling because I prefer longer appointments, often overnights. If my scheduled partner has to cancel last minute (which is rare but can happen) then I’ve got to find something same day or I’m going to explode. These last minute dates usually aren’t overnights. The best I expect is a companion who can see me for 2-3 hours in the evening and another 2-3 hours next morning.

I'm usually a 'schedule in advance guy' due to the fact that there is a better chance of getting the mid day appointment time that I require.  Having said that, I have found that it's good to have a backup plan by having an agency that schedules same day.  Several times I have had a provider cancel with short notice and I can then contact an agency for a same day.

2nd question....Years ago, I started out by scheduling 1 hour appointments due to my personal budget restrictions.  As my budget grew, I switched to 2 hr meetings which allowed me to relax a bit and sometimes get 3 rounds in.  Recently, I have found that my sweet spot is 90 minutes..... it's not rushed and i can still go twice.  

Question for you Snake.....if you had an unlimited budget would you schedule for 1 hour or 2??

and usually by weeks because I want to be sure I'm going to see whom I want to see.   The only exception is when I opt for  a MP as that's the way they work.

 
Also, multiple hours, often overnights if the price is right.   I like the relationship aspect of this as much as the sex.

Advance notice is.a must as a rule unless you are known to me and no screening is required.  Screening adds to the period of time for planning a visit and remember many of us have something else we do in the RW.  Many of my visitors are travelers thru ATL Airport which requires some advance planning with flight scedules.  Also since I do not see multiple visitors a day it is pretty rare that I would be sitting around all dolled up waiting like Miss Kitty on Marshall Dillon.....but it does happen on occasion.  

I prefer 90 minutes because it is pretty rare that someone will  come in shower, get in involved, shower again and leave in 60 minutes....just doesn't happen not with me anyway.  In fact some I will only see for 2 hours because I see them enough that i know well in advance that it is always going to be over 90 minutes, period.   NUBs are always 90 minutes because I know it is going to take awhile to settle in, calm down and get comfortable but never 2 hours first time, I just don't want either of  us to feel awkward or uncomfortable if it doesn't work out....

If I'm interested I make sure to be pre-screened in advance.  I call the day I want (sometimes call the evening before) and hope there is an hour free.  Usually there is, as long as I am flexible to meet her open time.  The first, second, even third timeslot I ask for is not always free.

I'm a one hour guy simply because I don't last more than an hour...anymore.  I'm over 60 now an lucky if Mr Happy stays awake the whole hour.  I will not take any pills...blue or otherwise.

I usually book 2-3 days ahead in order to take care of screening. However, when a provider cancels on me at the last minute I will then try to make an appointment for that day.

I usually do 1 hour appointments at first. If there is chemistry (even simulated chemistry) I will sometimes go for 1.5 to 2 hours on future dates.  

I have done a couple of 3 hour dates when the provider offers a deep discount on the 3rd hour for lunch or dinner. Tried them - all I could think about as she forked her meal into her mouth was how much I wanted to pick her up, put her on the table and fork her.  

I don't do overnights.

...myself likes a last-minute date for one hour. It's not rocket science. Worse, I either get a GFY or no response. Best, I get instant gratification. Bless the agency and provider who got a last-minute NSNC!

Oh, I don't even bother with a minimum of more than an hour, unless it's a reasonable rate or she cooks for me. lol

And like you, while I'm at home (LA) my schedule changes constantly. And to make things more complicated I'll sometimes just do the 30 minute, hit and run. Luckily most the ladies I see know me and get me so it's all good.
Now when I travel, I'll usually plan ahead 3-4 days. For the length of our date,It's alway 2 hours. Now we don't meet till late in the evening and while I'm out and about and it's usually a party. I have no curfew, my d.ate won't turn into a pumpkin at 12am so it's usually on. On these particular dates, I'm looking for an adventure, an escape, to do some crazy shit. If I wanted to just "Hit it and quit it" I'd hit up a CG.

QUESTION 1: I use both options, same-day and in-advance arrangements, it's situational for me.

My Romper Room (by choice*) is the city of Tijuana in Mexico, even though I live on the US side of the border. I have to plan my mongering with the precision of a military mission, taking into account days times of availability of the provider(s) I want to see, flakiness, currency exchange rates, traffic, transportation, waiting times to both enter and leave Mexico (always an unknown entity), unexpected hassles, my cover story, all kinds of things. Imagine a provider being late, a no-call/no-show, a bait-and-switch, or no vacancy at the No-Tell Motel, a "4-star" hotel actually turning out to be a minus 2-star roach motel, (all very common occurrences in Tijuana).

In the beginning of my mongering years ago, I had to abort plenty of missions and return to CONUS (the Continental United States) with a red face, white anger, and blue balls. Nothing is worse than going through all the trouble of forming an alibi to get away from The Warden, sneaking southbound under the radar into a foreign country, trying to get my pud pounded, get left at the altar with the twins still bulging with white sauce, wasting an hour crossing back over the borde northbound, and slinking back to home plate not knowing if I've already been discovered. To fertilize the tonsils or the belly of some Latina Lass makes all of that worth it, so I learned the hard way to always go there with a Plan B, C, and D.

As such, same-day can sometimes be sketchy, so I often start my phone calls from several hours up to a week in advance of the moment that I expect to hear the klick-klack-klack of high-heeled shoes approaching the door.

One part of the back-up plans is my long list of luscious lovelies I can call at a moment's notice once I'm already in a hotel room and Plan A has flopped or if it's an incall and she cancels, if I'm standing outside of a taxi whose driver has the gearshift ready to go from park to drive and move that right foot from brake pedal to accelerator.

There have been some occasions where the urge and the opportunity to go south of the border to get laid happened to fall into place all of a sudden, so same-day or last-minute were the only ways to go.

 
QUESTION 2: In Tijuana, especially with everything that I wrote above, 1 hour is my basic timetable, 90 minutes is a luxury every now and then, and a couple of times I hit the Daily Double of 2 hours, but those were pre-Corona Virus. My exercise regimen and overall lifestyle have blessed me with the virility and stamina of men half my age (which is part of the reason I'm a hobbyist; it was all going to waste), so I offer stud services for as long as the lady can stay on the bronco.

 
*Some nutcase ragged on me not long ago about saying that I hobby in Tijuana. He went on and on about how if I didn't like it I shouldn't go there. He missed the point entirely. When I comment on the ups and/or downs of going to Tijuana to get laid, I'm passing information, which I thought was the main point of this website. Others who are interested can use a compilation of information about it to either make their own decisions as to do it or not, or it can be a comparative feature to other options, or it can be a confirming feature for those who don't want to select it. I've learned A LOT about hobbying from this website, once again, that's its purpose, and I wish I had known even 10 percent of it in the years and years I hobbied alone before finding this place. (I started her about 60 days ago as a VIP.) If I can help out by passing on tips from my tales, I hope someone finds them useful.  
I go to Tijuana by personal choice, I enjoy all of its positives, I tolerate or try to mitigate all of its negatives.

Preferably at least a week or two out. Most of my hobbying is done when I travel (not much lately) and I like longer engagements like 4-hour dinner dates. I select ladies based almost exclusively on their physical appearance and I am very picky. For me, a large part of the fun is in the build up to the main event. I enjoy looking at her in a nice outfit, watching her walk away to the powder room and watching her walk back. I love some lighthearted flirtatious conversation over dinner. I like walking arm-in-arm back to the hotel. I might make an outfit request or have a gift for her to change into. I might have requested a striptease or lapdancing to start the fun. I love to feel her entire body as I run my hands over her skin. I like feeling unrushed.  

I have found that the type of experience that makes the whole thing worthwhile for me requires planning and preparation. I could just go see whoever happens to be available anytime I get horny, but that's not the experience that really satisfies what my mind craves.

I feel the same way you do snakepilskken I don’t like advance booking because of my age for me to really enjoy the moment it would be nice to pick up the phone and set something up later that day but even with my regulars I see I have to book in advance as far as the multiple hrs I’m only there for one reason so all the small talk I don’t care for I don’t need friends all I need is to bust a nut and I am out the door no matter how gorgeous she might be I very seldom stay the whole hr which I always get because even though I know I be done in less the a half hour I still don’t want to feel rush!!
