I don't need them. There are plenty of other boards to post on.

The TER review database is far superior to any other boards by quality and quantity.

As far as a discount, I wouldn't expect any to have half a TER. The reviews alone are worth the price.

It has been over a month since I read a review. I find that Backchanneling is more useful than reviews and there is other review sites. I would give up the reviews. There is a few people I would miss if the boards went away.

Because of events related to the boards that happened this last month I found myself seriously thinking of leaving TER. A few times the last few weeks I even had the cancel membership screen up and once I even filled it out before exiting out of the screen without pushing send. I know there are a few here that wished I would have pressed send and gone away. Maybe next time you will get your wish, but for now I am not going anywhere.

The reviews are a necessity, and why I came here. I am too broke to afford a rip off.
The boards are merely an addiction.
If I paid for VIP I  wouldn't give up the reviews, for any amount of discount.

But....if we gave up the boards...then we mods wouldn't have anything to do.
No posts to sift through.
No spam to report.
No improper ads to disapprove for the 20th time.
No ads with pics that are as nauseating as a bucket of chum baking in the sun.
No flame wars to oversee.
No ISO posts.
No 411 posts.
No "why was my post disapproved" whiny PMs.

Both, the reviews and the boards, provide value.  I reject both options.

maybe the trick is he means 'give up writing reviews' and just write on the discussion boards. lol

And I've been non-VIP less than that, I find the question irrelevant to my situation.

Have no need for either, and you know this.

So the reviews would take precedence, but I'd miss these boards.

I'm here and I pay for the reviews.  Discussion boards are purely a bonus.

Although I will admit that I derived great value from the Self-help Center and the Newbie Board.  Although I still read the Newbie Board, I'm at a point now where I don't absolutely need it.

For me, now, the most functionally useful board is my regional board, where I look for visiting provider ads.  If that board did not exist, however, I'm sure I could find another convenient source for that info.

Always takes hours, but posting quips on the boards is fast.    Reviews are more valuable by far, so it should be the main requirement...
