I recently went to a website of a lady I was interested in seeing. On her site she was charging $400 per hour for her companionship. On her site she billed herself as a XXX star etc.

I then saw an ad for her on the Bodymiracle site and she was charging $1,400 per hour for her companionship. Now I know some lady's may try to pass on the cost of advertising to clients if you find their ad on a referral site but this is out of control. Can someone please clue me in as to what the heck I may be missing?

I can only reply they charge what the market will bear, alot of gals have several different methods of marketing, of course they will make the appointment that is the best for them $$$ and drop the others if needed.  I have seen that the rates are starting to get out of hand with some gals,  thee should be a way to stop the inflation,  its starting to get downright expensive, anyone have any thoughts or ideas on that subject????

This is a question that would probably better posted on the pornstar board but I will attempt to answer.  If you book a pornstar through an agency it will ususally cost you at least twice as much or more than if you booked directly with her.  In some cases you have no choice since the pornstar can only be booked through an agency.  Sometimes she can be booked through several agencies.  In that case it pays to see which agency gives the best price.  If possible it is almost always cheaper to book with the lady directly as opposed to going through an agency.

It's all marketing and the perception of value.  Some people can be convinced that if they paid more for a product they somehow got a better product because of the old adage you get what you paid for.  While this is generally true, there's a thresh-hold where it doesn't really matter how much more you pay, you don't get that more additional value which is the idea of diminishing returns.

A few examples:
High end stereo systems.  People will pay more for increases in the performance of the sound quality that the human ear can't even hear.

Generic label drugs. By law a given type of drug has to meet minimum requirement etc. so a generic aspirin at the same dosage as a name-brand is the same drug and could even be coming out of the same factory but you pay extra for the name.

Finally, I had a lady running a agency tell me how she had a lady who was working both for her part-time and as an independent but using different names.  The independent persona had rave reviews but for whatever reason the agency persona didn't get reviewed so this lady was able to charge extra working as an independent.  While you would think that she would just work as an independent at the higher rate, the number of customers were fewer so to maximize her profits she filled the empty time as an agency girl.  She essentially filled two market niches by charging two different rates but providing the same service.  To add to this marketing brilliance, the independent persona would offer "discounts" once in a while which was much raved about by the local hobbyist.

A provider may charge X in her internet ad, but if she advertises in a local newspaper under a different name, she may charge X-100.

Internet advertising is more expensive and also attracts a more affluent customer. That may be the reason for the price diference.

Do your homework and you can save some $.

May i cut in?

Its a double edge sword sometimes...if you want to be an independant, you have to have clientele, which takes time to accumulate...ditto for getting your name out there so people know you exist..true,if you work as an independant, theres no agency fee to worry about, but then agian,if you,re just starting out, alone, your business will come in slow trickles, instead of a steady steam...If you DO work for an agency that has the benifits a website already up and clientele established(and hopefully a good reputation for people walking away with good vibes, you,ll get the work, but in compensation, they ask for half your companionship fee..and sometimes to make up for that, girls who work for agencies charge double, just to walk away with regular pay.

9 times out of ten, girls who work for agencies, get fed up with so much money being taken away,so they gather phone numbers and make regular clients to see outside the agencies help--but then agian, that means money has to be spent on advertising, paying for banners on choice sites, making up a site, ect, ect, which isnt cheap...independant or no,advertising HAS to be done somehow...you can find message board forums and chatrroms and sites to link up for free, but banners on choice sites help out alot....

I,m not saying EVERY high-end girl has these reasons for charging such high prices, but i,m sure this explanation is true for some...that some of that money goes for advertising to attract, keep, and cultivate the right clientle to cover nessesary evil bases without going broke. These are just  my thoughts gentlemen-have a great day

I did some homework on this situation and here is what I found out. The lady in question has been in the escorting business for 12 years, and has been making adult movies both, hard and soft core for about the same length of time according to an e-mail I got from her. She also cliams to be a feature dancer.

I contacted the reference site that had her ad up and asked for their advertising rates and they said it was $75 a month with a month free. No mention was made about passing on revenue from dates.

The only conclusion I drew was that since most of the lady's on that site where charging at least 4 figures per hour, she figured she should as well figuring that most guys who would go to that site ould be use to or familiar with paying that rate.

On the e-mail that I sent directly to the lady, she quoted me the $400 price from her site. I sent a request using a different e-mail addy, to her ad on the referral site and she quoted me the four figure price. Also no where on the reference page ad does it provide a link back to her website.

I guess it was just a case of trying to get it (the money) any way you can.
