There isn't enough news, kstp wants to create it along with LE out of St Paul.  
They justify their actions by stating they're out to help underage girls, yet there are no underage girls being rescued in this hype for ratings.

Isn't that the very definition of freedom?  ejukashoin.... gotta git mor kidz n dem skouls... they's a needin sum ejukashion....

Really, I read throught the article and all I could think about was the NC/NS discussion below...  really, there was just so much in this article that does not define the internet scene as it has now evolved....  Shocking I say - but for a different reason.

I read that quote and wondered what the guy was talking about ....still doesn't make any sense to me.

They're afraid some women *might* be teens.  Then they arrest a woman who is definitely not in her teens.  It's like hunting for a bear and proudly coming back with a mouse with nobody noticing the difference.    

So, the neighbor is shocked.  Can't she draw the conclusion that a woman could be a provider and be a good neighbor?  

I know this news is a yawn for those of us in the hobby, but it goes to show that the public still doesn't notice us.  

It's also something that TV has to turn to the internet for news.

going to meet up with teens... and the news creep coming out of the closet... with cameras in tow.... how long before they use that tactic to catch us adults in this hobby.... sheese... can someone say entrapment?  yea....  I know plenty of providers who are... providers for their kids, their community, their church....  their charity of choice... yea, they are providers... just not the type of provider that we use euphamistically.

They'd catch too many important people, including many journalists and members of LE.  

Of course, I could be wrong, they might just do it anyway.  Pedophilia is easy to loathe and there's a very clear moral drama to it that would gain ratings.  If they go after straight guys though . . .

Now, of course, if they actually start doing it, it might just be a blessing.  People might just reconsider prostitution in general.  

Of course then it will still be sad for the lives it ruins in the meantime.

Holy hysteria Batman!!!! We gotta put a stop to this ability of folks to go....ANYWHERE(!!!!) and do ANYTHING (!!!!).

I honestly can't believe that in the course of this newsstation's investigation and interviews (such that it was), "anyone could go anywhere or do anything" was the BEST quote they could come up with. I wonder how many neighbors that they talked to said something along the lines of "Hey, its a free country, leave the consenting adults alone"?

VP of research for a start up - prof at a university... you name it... these are not your run of the mill types... all highly educated and skilled.... just dumb.  but I agree- ruins lives needlessly - except for one thing... the guys are all going to meet underage girls who have been explicit in their age in the chat.  so, while I am for catching predators... I gotta wonder about what they are catching by doing this.

They like the attention of the press.  Of course the news will show it during sweeps month just because it's sexually related.  Housewives will feel encouraged and will cheer on their local vice cops.  They'll watch the stories just because underneath they're horny, but they want to know the rules are being enforced.  Monogamous men will watch because they're horny.  

So, there's both a longing and a judgment to it.
