Way back before the internet, hobbyists had to make do with other forms of communication.

For those who didn't want to deal with the street scene or the strip bars, there were the classified ads in those weekly entertainment magazines that every major city seemed to have.

To stand out from the crowd, gals had to catch your attention with a headline and as few words as they could muster.

My all time favorite was a single bold word:  FEVER, followed by a phone number.  I tell you she was great too.  A great imagination often is the sign of an erotic mind.

My second favorite was this:  Wanted: Husband - someone else's that is.

She was a barrel of laughs too.

Anyone recall any other gems from those long gone days.

Now that's what I call a booty call.

(Yes, I know, that's bad.)

I used to frequent the brothels in Nevada back when it was full service bareback and a fair price was $35.00. Several of the girls were escorts in Southern California when they weren’t working in Nevada.  I accumulated a list of escorts in Southern California who were all either Nevada girls or referred by Nevada girls.  I had great luck with each referral, and never had a negative experience. I never met with a girl out of a paper ad or a girl who was not referred by another girl.  This was prior to TER and the internet.  The “community” was a lot smaller and very close knit.

Always worked for me. I'm glad I don't have to go pay for a weekly ad anymore.

I remember when the going rate was $50 in Boston. You had a phone that rang of the wall unless you pulled the plug and if you were busy you took it off the hook and put a pillow over it so your friends knew you were busy.

Do you remember those days mrfisher?

I usually had to dial twenty numbers before I found one that would pick up.

Incredibly, I found some real nice gals that way; but then after a few weeks or months the ad would dissapear and the line disconnected and it was back to the drawing boards again.

Now with the internet, things are so much easier.

You guys should start an escort ad writing service!  I could use something catchy.  My best is just "I LOVE MEN"-- not very funny.

How about "Serving up Sweetness in Hampton Roads for over 6 months now!"

And you have the Certification to prove it!

I had a client write to me once, he said, "I got a cravin' for some Raven" which I thought was cool.

The one I remember most was:  "AAAAAAAAwesome AAAnnie With the Great Fanny"

They'd put the A's there to be first on the Alphabetical listings, and I swear they would compete from week to week because the one on top would usually have just one more A than the one below.  Marketing 101, I guess.  It must have worked, because I seem to remember that the phone number was always busy when I called.

The best ad line I can remember was:  "If I won't do it, it shouldn't be done."  LOL  Her phone was always busy too.
