They have needs like everyone else.

Obviously they don't use employment info to pass screening. There are other ways.  
 Disclaimer: I'm not a cop either, but I know cops see providers. So do doctors, lawyers, accountants, pastors, politicians, celebrities, truck drivers, construction workers and farmers (and every other occupation you can think of)
